CAC-1070 does not work with Vizio M43-C1 and R9 Nano

I have had no problem running 4k@30hz without this adapter, and was excited to run @60hz when I received this, but the TV simply says “No Signal”. My computer seems to detect that a new display was connected, but it simply doesn’t show any video. Any help with this issue? What should I try?

UPDATE: I have tried with a different monitor that also supports 4K@60hz with hdmi 2.0, and it worked fine.It appears to be a problem with my TV then I am guessing.

this is occurring for me too on my vizio m50-c1.

It’s absolutely INFURIATING that this doesn’t have a a compatibility list or a warning ANYWHERE that says WARNING: MIGHT WASTE HOURS OF YOUR TIME ONLY TO DISCOVER IT DOESN”T WORK WITH SOME* MONITORS

*some meaning most

I wasted HOURS trying to get this to work.

I am having the same problem. I have a Vizio p502ui-b1 and as soon as I connect my TV there is no signal. There has to be a way to make this work.

on 09-01-2016

Update: the adapter works under Fedora Linux with open source drivers, but only @ 30hz. But I am still getting no signal when using with Windows 7. This make me wonder if there is a driver issue or a software solution that might make this work.

I am currently investigating how to force my PC to output 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. From what I can tell, Vizio only supports 4:2:0, while most other PCs/cards/etc. default to 4:2:2 or 4:4:4? This is just a guess right now.

Neil, could you provide a little more info about your setup? What is the model of your graphics card? What is the model of the TV? and what version of Windows are you using? Something makes me think this is related to Windows 7 and I am tempted to upgrade to Windows 10 to see if that resolves the issue.

on 09-01-2016

Update: I switched color depth to 8 bit and I can now get 4k @ 30hz, but when I switch to 60hz there is no signal. I tried two different high speeds HDMI cables and updated Crimson drivers, but still can’t get 60hz.

on 10-01-2016

I have an AMD R9 Nano graphics card with latest 15.12 drivers, a Vizio M43-C1 TV (I am using HDMI input 5 which is the only HDMI 2.0 port). I am running windows 10 x64 and , and still cannot get 4k@60.

I have another 4k monitor(http://www.amazon.com/Upstar-M280A1-UHD-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00SX4WQ2A) with hdmi 2.0 input that that does show 4k@60 with this adapter. I assume though that the monitor supports multiple chroma subsampling levels where as the vizio only supports 4:2:0.

Accornding to Club3d website The adapter does support 4k@60hz at 4.2.0
http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/displayport-12-to-hdmi-20-uhd-active-adapter.html

This is just a hunch. Sure the adapter supports every subsampling, but perhaps the TV/card do not. Maybe the card is defaulting to 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 and has no ability to output 4:2:0. At the same time, the TV might only be able to use 4:2:0, and will show “No Signal” when it sees 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 coming from the graphics card.

I think you’re right ,I had a similar problem with gtx 980 over hdmi 2.0 on a vizio m4k could only do 4k@30hz because of the subsampling

i also hear it could help to setup the screen connected with the CAC-1070/CAC-1170 as second screen (so not as main screen).

I am also trying to setup my 4K-Vizio M43-C1 . I received email with firmware update and followed the steps given i can get past the section where you choose graphics (AMD,NVIDIA or INTEL) I choose the NVIDIA my graphics card (980 TI) and i get a error message (OUI MISMATCH) i can not go any further . Please help. Thank you.

P.S Once I get this to work do I have to update each adapter? I ordered 3 which i will be running a triple monitor setup.

Everyone,

I can confirm that the new firmware does allow 4K at 60hz on my Vizio M43-C1 on AMD R9 Nano! Good work from the people at Club-3D!

Hello Neil , I have same Vizio model as you  can you tell me what settings you have selected in the TV menu section under : More Picture > Color Space , which did you select: Auto, YCbCr or RGB . And finally what did you select for Gamma. 1.8 / 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 or 2.4 .
Thank you.

on 03-04-2016

I can also confirm that the new firmware fixes the blank screen/no signal issue @ 60hz with my Nvidia 750Ti which is now running at YCbCr 4:4:4/60hz without a glitch. As before I could only get 4:2:0@60 from the HDMI port. Texts look terrible at 4:2:0 due to color halo/shade. They look much better now at 4:4:4/4:2:2. Everything is much snappier @60hz and no noticeable lag.

Angel, my Color Space is set to Auto and Gamma is 2.1.
