Can not upgrade firmware

I feel I will never be able to actually run 3840×2160 @ 60hz
I have an Intel NUC6i5syh with a CAC-1170 and I’m trying to run the firmware upgrade but it keeps telling me there is no graphics card found.
I don’t have another pc with a mini displayport so running it on another pc is out of the question.  My OS is Windows 10 64bit.  Ive tried the oldest graphics drivers to the newest beta drivers all with the same out come.

any suggestions?

Hi Shroomalistic, are you able to flash on a system featuring AMD or Nvidia graphics it will be very difficult to flash the firmware for the adapter.

Current gen NUC’s should support the CAC-1170 though. Do you know if BIOS and Intel HD graphics drivers are the latest available?

I’ve got the latest bios and the latest drivers
I think the main reason I need to flash it is because of the Visio tv. I read the new firmware fixes issues with it.

If the frimware is “0x01e” or “0x23” at the end, there is no need for a Firmware update. Those work also with Vizio TV’s already.

Here’s a checklist

* Make sure the HDMI cable you are using can do HDMI2.0 or 18Gbps.

I know it sounds a bit “easy” but many cables do state to support 4K but actually do not support that in 60Hz and/or the full bandwidth, that certainly

goes for cables longer than 3 meters. It is always best to go for a certified cable, something like this http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/hdmi-20-high-speed-4k60hz-uhd-cable-.html

* On many TV’s you need to turn on “UHD Color” or “Advanced or Enhanced” setting manually in the settings of your TV for the HDMI port to which your pc is connected.

* Also it could help when connecting 2 screens, to set the screen connected thru the Adapter as second/secondary screen

* I advise you to make a custom resolution, set resolution to 3840×2160 at 60Hz and set Timing standard to CVT-RB (reduced blanking)

* Color Depth need to be set to 8 bpc (when running 4:4:4).

I have the same problem. Club 3D sent me a flashing utility to update my adapter firmware so that I could use my adapter with my Vizio M43 TV. But I can’t run the flashing utility because I’m on a Mac. I went to Microcenter and ran the utility using a Windows laptop that had a Mini DisplayPort and the utility just threw an error.
