CSV-1560 Ethernet problem

Hello,

I have a CSV-1560 (USB Type C MST Charging Dock) connected to a MacBook Pro from 2017 with Touchbar (current macOS 10.13.2).

It all works fine, except for the fact that the Ethernet adapter
doesn’t wake up after sleep (everything else like USB, HDMI, Sound
does). I need to shut off und and on again the dock to enable Ethernet
again.

Any hints on how I could make the Ethernet wake up correctly?
Thanks!

Good day Traindriver,

Sorry to hear this.
I do think we have a firmware update for this product. I will have [email protected] send that to you.

Hi
The docking station is perfect for me (MacBook Pro touch bar late 2017) but i have exactly the same problem as mentioned by traindriver: can you send me the firmware update as well?
Thanks!

This is what they sent me:

Hereby the active dropbox link to the files needed to update the firmware (E102) for CSV-1560:

Please let me know if it works for you!

Thanks for the Link! After I found a Windows PC to make the update, it now seems to work ;)

Thanks for your quick reply! I got the link to the firmware update, and I followed the instructions exactly, but the updater always tells me “device not found”.

Do you have any more tips for me?

Thanks!

Hi Traindriver,
So connecting the Docking Station to Notebook and connecting it to power, the program does not give you the option to click omn the refresh Icon ?

on 11-01-2018

Exactly.

I ran it as administrator. I first started the program, then connected dock and PC and finally power. I even tried again with unplugging everything else from the notebook and the docking station, still doesn’t work.

Sorry for the delay, it sounds like the Docking works fine and there is just an issue with the USB Ethernet driver.
Any chance of trying to run that upgrade program on a Windows machine ?

on 30-01-2018

I also think that the hardware is fine. I installed BootCamp on my macbook, so it’s technically a Windows machine.

on 31-01-2018

did you already upgrade to 10.13.3 ?

on 31-01-2018

I did, the problem persists.

on 01-02-2018

ok thanks for the feedback

Any news or new firmware?

on 23-05-2018

Hi traindriver,
The only confirmation i got is that the updater program does not work on MAC OS, but you already found that out yourself :-S
I will escalate this and get back to you asap.

Will have [email protected] send you an email with updated firmware that should solve your issue …

on 30-05-2018

Thanks, I got the new firmware and the installer seems to have upgraded my firmware. The actual problem however, the ethernet adapter not waking up, persists.

on 31-05-2018

that is not good … i will feedback and see if we can simulate the issue.
Will get back to asap

This has worked, thank you very much!

For anyone else with the same problem, they sent me a Mac OS X driver for Realtek 8152B/8153.
