What MST hub for 2560 x 1080 displays @ 60hz?

I have a radeon r 7800 and would like to run 4 2560 x 1080 displays.

DISPLAY OUTPUT

Display Port ready : 1.2

Dual link Support : Y

HDMI Ready : 1.4a

Max Supported Resolution (ANALOG) : 2048 x 1536

Max Supported Resolution (DIGITAL) : 2560 x 1600

Output – DL-DVI-I : 1

Output – HDMI : 1

Output – mini DP : 2

Output – SL-DVI-D : 1

the LG 34UM58-P  uses hdmi connection and i would like full 2560 x 1080 @ 60hz
What Mst hub works with Ultra Wide and will provide me with this?
I assume I can use one mini dp port with a adapter. Do I need hdmi 2.0 or is 1.4 ok ?
If 1.4 is ok then I would need a mini dp to 2 dp with adapters or a mini to 3 hdmi.

thanks for any help.

Hi Bouzouki,

To be able to connect more than 2 screens to the HD 7800 you will need to “enable” the eyefinity feature. You do that by using 1 of the DP ouput of the Graphics card.
When you want to spread 1 video signal over the 4 screens (Single Large Surface or SLS) it become increasingly important to use the sames screens and also preferrably connect them in the same manner. If you chose to have individual video signals to each screen than that would still be nice, but less important.

A DP1.2 output has 21.6 Gbps of bandwidth.
A 2560×1080 60Hz signal in 8BPC takes 4.98 Gbps.

A few option you could choose from …

Easiest:
– MST HUB CSV-5300H = DP to 3 x HDMI
Connect with the Mini-DP to DP Adapter (standard incl in the box) to the Graphics card.
Screen 1: Connect screen to MST Hub with “normal/Passive”HDMI Cable
Screen 2: Connect screen to MST Hub with “normal/Passive”HDMI Cable
Screen 3: Connect screen to MST Hub with “normal/Passive”HDMI Cable
Screen 4: Connect screen to HDMI output on Graphics card directly with “normal/Passive HDMI Cable

“Best” (for SLS setup)
– MST HUB CSV-5400 = Dp to 4 x DP
Connect with the Mini-DP to DP Adpater (standard incl in the box) to the Graphics card.
Screen 1: Connect screen to MST Hub with Passive DP to HDMI converter CAC-1001
Screen 2: Connect screen to MST Hub with Passive DP to HDMI converter CAC-1001
Screen 3: Connect screen to MST Hub with Passive DP to HDMI converter CAC-1001
Screen 4: Connect screen to MST Hub with Passive DP to HDMI converter CAC-1001

Cheapest
Screen1: Connect screen to HDMI output on Graphics card directly
Screen2: Connect screen to DL DVI output on Graphics Card with Passive DVI to HDMI Adapter CAA-DMD>HFD3
Screen3: Connect screen to Mini-DP output on Graphics Card with Active Mini-Dp to HDMI Adapter with Eyefinity support, CAC-1170
Screen 4 : Connect screen to Mini-DP output on Graphics Card with passive Mini-Dp to HDMI Adapter, CAC-1101

The CSV-5300H shows only dual display using 2560×1600 @ 60 hz
and 1920×1080 @ 60. I need 2560 x 1080@ 60 So wouldn’t I need to use this for 2 monitors then get a adapter for the mini DP port and then use the HDMI?

Oops  i meant to say
2 monitors at 2560×1600 @ 60 hz
3 monitors at 1920×1080 @ 60 hz

I prefer having extended mode over SLS setup. I am not gaming I am trading stocks.

also when looking at the last option it uses
Dvi to Hdmi Conversion
Supports resolutions up to WUXGA 1920x1200p @60Hz

I
need all 4 monitors running at 2560×1080@60hz

CSV-5300H does not really have other limitations than the bandwidth.
So 3 x 2560×1080 60Hz will fit, becuase each video signal will be 4.98 big x 3 = 14,94 Gbps and that fits thrue singel DP1.2 ouput. So that will work.
Same goes for CSV-5400 …4 x 4.98 = 19.92 Gbps , that also fits over single DP1.2 ouput, so should also work.
Option 1 “Easiest” and option 2 “Best” both work and are correct.
Option 3 however i did make a mistake in … Dual Link DVI does support 2560×1600 60Hz, however that CAA-DMD>HFD3 adapter does not. So you would need a better adapter for that one.

The 4 port CSV-5400 runs 3 to 4 at 1920x1080p @ 60 hz.

I guess what I am asking is will
CSV-5200  support 2 monitors at 2560×1080 @ 60 hz
CAC-1170 support 1 monitor at 2560×1080 @60hz
then i would run the last one straight to hdmi 1.4

This seems like the only way it would work full res @ 60hz

is this correct?
