Recently Purchased a 1087 HDMI to DisplayPort Cable 4k120HZ or 8k60hz HDR10 Cable

Once installed to TV and to PC it would detect the 4k, but the when trying to get to the 120hz Refresh I would lose signal on the TV.

The TV, and GPU drivers are all updated, as both support HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4. After a while of switching DIsplay ports on my PC it still wouldn't go to 120hz, and the picture at 4k was enlarged and not properly fitting on the screen either. Went to unplug the cable and the HDMI part that was attached to my TV was Hot, but not burning hot.  What are my next steps in either trying to get it figured out a working solution, or to return the product to Amazon, and get a refund.

Which GPU?

Which PC?

Which TV?

Which port of the PC is the adapter connected to?

Does the TV have a PC mode?

GPU is a 6700xt

PC is custom built

TV is LG C3 Oled 42 it's set for pc mode.

HDMI is plugged into the TV, Display into the GPU.

Also to mention that when I'd switch to 1440P or even 1080 I couldn't get 120fps without the TV losing connection and having to drop it down to 60fps.

Check the EDID to see if it advertises a 4K120 mode.

How do I go about checking the EDID with AMD?

I'm on Windows, but I think it's a defective cable. I used it on another monitor and I can get 144 at 1080P. I can swap the resolution on the monitor to say 1440 or Even 4k, but it'll drop down to 30hz. If I go back to 144hz it goes straight back to 1080p and stays there. I have AMD RSR activated so I should be able to go the other resolutions with ease. I'm also not to comfortable messing with Regedit to adjust the EDID code.

Are you plugging the cable into the GPU or Motherboard? 4K30Hz hints to DisplayPort 1.2. Used quite a lot on motherboards.

I've tried setting custom resolutions through AMD, while setting the refresh rate to 120hz for 4k I lose signal completely and have to delete the Custom Resolution and cycle through power on the TV to get a signal back.

Currently with my HDMI to HDMI cable that I have I get 120hz at 4k no issue, and if I drop resolution size from 4k down to 1440P or down to 1080P the gpu auto scales it to fit the screen. With the Club3d Cable If I keep it at 4k 30hz and drop it down to 1440 or 1080P the screen doesn't auto adjust to fit the screen.
