Could that HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4a be the culprit? Perhaps a driver issue is lurking in the shadows. Speaking of frustrating visual glitches, once, back in the day, my old laptop refused to properly render geometry dash levels, constantly flickering and tearing.
