Hi All,

Sorry for my bad english 😉

I have a Mac mini 2011 with a Radeon hd6630m, I use it with bootcamp windows7 pro 64 for my job.

Currently i use 2 touch screen Iiyama T2250MTS (1920×1080) independently, one on the HDMI output, the second on the DisplayPort with adapter.

I need to connect a third one, is it possible with MST Hub?

Is it possible to connect the 3 on a cvs 5300 and keep the Hdmi output for an over screen if i need?

Thanks for your answer.

Gilles

Hi Gilles,
If you are using bootcamp the MST Hub should provide you 3 displays as the HD 6000 series is compatible with the MST Hub. Another option you have is to use a USB Graphics device in order to enable a third display.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your answer.
How many display could run my Graphic cart in independent mode?
It’s a 1.1 or 1.2 DP on it, i found this information nowhere?

Thanks again Paul,
So i just need a csv-5200 one, i think but perhaps i’m wrong it’s a better solution than a usb graphic device, which is your opinion?
And i could use an Usb graphic later if i need a fourth one….

If you are using OSX I suggest the USB graphic as it will work out of the box. The MST is a bit tricky as we have not been able to test all Apple products. If you are using bootcamp it will most likely work fine.

Hi Paul,

I received my cvs 5200 since 3 days and i have a problem….
I have 2 lcd panel 1440×900 (with inverter board and controller board with lvds cable) I don’t arrived to joint the link 🙁
When i have then, 1 on HDMI and 1 on thunderbolt it’s ok…
When I try to connect the 2 panel on CVS-5200 with club 3D mini display to display adapter no one function…
If 1 on hdmi and 1 on CVS, just hdmi one function…
But if i try to connect just one LCD panel and a iiyama 22″ 1920×1080 on the CSV it’s ok
Now if try to connect my second lcd panel on the hdmi  only this one and the iiyama function the second one who was on the CSV don’t function….
I restart windows after change….
Thanks for help

Hi GP17,
Sorry for the delay.
It looks like the LCD panels are not recognized and therefor do not receive a signal.
Could very well have to do with the “digital handshake” that doe snot go thru somehow.
Is it possible to install drivers of those LCD Panels on the system, perhaps that will help
recognition …

Is it possible that my screen could be not compatible with your product, do you already have this problem?

that is not very likely. The OS of the system need to support MST. The CSV-5200 is able to receive 2 video (and audio signals) at ones and send that to the corresponding screen. With Screens with digital inputs that works easier/better because normally the system will automatically recognize the screens thru a “digital handshake”. When this is not done it depends a bit on how the systems reacts to “not finding a screen”. Windows for instance will normally always send a standard VGA signal even when no screen is detected. Not sure on how much bandwidth the “Touch” feature will take, but i think that normally goes over USB, so no influence on the MST HUB. The more  inverter-boards/ splitters etc. you add, the more likely it is that some part of signal gets “lost in translation”.
