Hi there
I am thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a Geforce MSI GTX 1080, which has 3 display ports, one HDMI and a DVI connector.
My current setup is Eyefinity, using 5 x 1920×1200 monitors on a Radeon 5950, 4 monitors connected to its display port outputs, and one connected via DVI, All the monitors are identical Samsung 24″ models, 4 of the monitors themselves use DVI to active display port adapters, which were neccessary for Eyefinity to work.
The card I want to use has 3 display ports, one HDMI and a DVI connector – As apparently Nvidia only allows the card to only be able to use 4 of its 5 connectors – Regrettably this means I’m going to need a display port splitter, so wanted to know – having spent a lot of money on my “active” DVI to Display port adapters with the old setup – does it mean I’ll be able to re-use them on with your unit – or will I have to buy “passive” ones?
