CAC-1066 cable ‘Check Displayport Cable’ on S32D850T monitor OSD

Hi, when a new CAC-1066 DP1.4 cable is plugged into my Samsung S32D850T, a DP1.1-1.2 monitor, I see a ‘ Check DisplayPort Cable’ message on the monitor OSD, and no signal from the videocard is displayed (a Radeon Vega).  **This message is displayed whether or not the CAC-1066 is plugged into the videocard**.  The stock DP cable works fine.  Is this CAC-1066 cable bad?  Or could this be an issue with the monitor?

Hi rms,

A CAC-1066 cable is indeed capcble of doing DP1.4 spec but is fully downwards compatible.
Furthermore a passive Cable like the CAC-1066 does not do anything with the signal other then allowing it to go form source system to screen.
Perhaps the card is sending out a DP 1.4 signal which the cable can do, but the Screen does not recognise ? Please check setting in the menu of the screen, normally you can set the DP input to “1.2” and then the Screen should send this data at start up to system so it knows what it can send out.

Thanks for the reply MST1407!  I did try the DP1.2 HBR2 setting in the 850T’s OSD, with no luck.  Very odd!  However I’d gotten this cable specifically for a new monitor, Samsung C32HG70 (1440p/144hz, since I wanted a longer length), and with this monitor the cable works fine, including on the DP1.4 setting to the Radeon Vega card.

Ok, good to hear the cable is doing a good job 🙂
