Wondering if the CAC-1510-A (HDCP off) adapter for Cinema Displays, which is currently out of stock on Amazon, is still being made by Club 3D? If so, when can we expect new units to be available?

Hi Garynien,

These are still made. Amazon is quite big so which country are you looking?
If you are on a Windows PC you can buy the normal CAC-1510 and request a firmware update from support.

I’m in the USA, and using a Mac. Do not have Windows to do a firmware update. I have asked Amazon to let me know when new units are available. I thought that Club 3D itself might have more current insights on the supply.

Hi Garyniem,

Whereabout in the USA? Amazon does not ditribute just from one centre.

Than indeed your best bet is buying the CAC-1510-A.

Because this might be helpful to others reading this forum, the CAC-1510-A is now available on Amazon, as of Feb. 1, 2021. This is the end of the thread. No further response is necessary.

Quick follow-up: I received the CAC-1510-A, and it works perfectly to connect the Apple Cinema HD display (30-inch, from 2004) to a 2020 M1 Mac Mini. This is the adapter with “HDCP OFF.” The display will start up in 1280 x 800 resolution. Don’t let that bother you. Go to System Preferences–>Displays. Holding down the option key as you click “Displays” brings up the panel with “hidden” resolution of 2560 x 1600. Just select that, and you’re good to go. The Cinema HD display is certainly a capable monitor, but note that Big Sur is designed with higher resolutions in mind. Ideally, it wants a 5K display, like Apple’s 5K iMac or LG’s UltraFine 27MD5KL-B. But this adapter from Club 3D will certainly extend the life of a Cinema Display. It’s a fine product at a good price.
