4k@60 stopped working on CAC-2070 after changing cpu/mobo

Hi, I used CAC-2070 display port to HDMI 2.0 active adapter to get 4K @ 60hz flawlessly on my old sandybridge system (i7 2600, Z77) for years.

Yesterday I upgraded to Ryzen system (change to Ryzen 3600, B450 and new DDR4 of course). GPU is still the same R390. Windows is also the same (win10 pro 64bit – didn’t reinstall from fresh but I bought new activation key since old key couldn’t be used when changing hardware significantly), just reinstall the gpu driver. HDMI cable, TV settings, etc are also the same. Even the HDMI port used is also the same.

However I can only select 30hz on display adapter properties if I choose 4K resolution as if it’s still HDMI 1.4. I can’t find any other way to change refresh rate.

Anybody knows what’s happening here? and what’s the solution?

thanks!

Hi,

First of all congratulations with that purchase, some powerful hardware 🙂

Could you start by checking if all windows updates are installed, this sometimes is an issue.

you mentioning the installment of GPU drivers for the R390, might this have been a newer driver ?

Thanks!

I just update the windows, still there’s no 60hz option.

I used the same gpu driver before I change cpu/mobo, just reinstalled (repair). 19.2.2 or something.

I’ll test tonight with much older driver then. Hopefully it works.

I tried the custom resolution exactly as suggested without changing the driver and it works! there’s 60hz choice in display adapter properties.
