CAC-1331

I have a Dell S2716DG gaming monitor and a PS5. Im trying to run the PS5 at 1440p, 120hz on that monitor. This monitor does not have an HDMI 2.0, or any HDMI capable of running beyond 60hz. Only the displayport 1.2 on this monitor is capable of running 144hz. Problem is, the PS5 only has a single HDMI 2.0 input on it.

The CAC-1331 brings a potential solution, but only mentions it can run 4k @ 60hz, but I saw on some websites that it can run 1080p @ 144hz. So the questions becomes:

Can I plug an HDMI 2.0 into my PS5 into the CAC-1331, then plug the CAC-1331 USB and Displayport 1.2 port into my Dell S2716DG monitor, so that my PS5 can then run games at 1440p and 120hz?

Any help is much appreciated.

1440p120 is less bandwidth than 4K60 (594 MHz) so it should work.

The DisplayPort EDID of the S2716DG (from https://edid.tv/edid/944/ ) has several refresh rates for 1440p (24, 60, 85, 100, 120, 144 Hz; 570 MHz max pixel clock). All of them are within the HDMI 2.0 limit (600 MHz).

I don’t know if the PS5 will allow any of the modes though.
