Hi there!

I would like to buy this type of laptop with rtx 2060 graphics card.

https://store.asus.com/us/item/202007AM150000008/STRIX-ASUS-ROG-Strix-G15-%282020%29-Gaming-Laptop%2C-15.6%E2%80%9D-144Hz-FHD-IPS-Type-Display%2C-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-2060%2C-Intel-Core-i7-10750H%2C-16GB-DDR4%2C-512GB-PCIe-NVMe-SSD%2C-RGB-Keyboard%2C-Windows-10-Home%2C-G512LV-ES74

As you can see there is only a usb c port which has display support.

Beside this I have an LG nanocell 8K tv which has 2.1 hdmi input ports.

Can I use your 1567 adapter to create display port from usb c and then connect it to the 1085, to create hdmi 2.1 from display port?

My goal is to have 8k / 60Hz at least.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi Egrego,

It works. I tried it myself on a USB-C from a RTX2080TI (PC) to a LG C9 4k120Hz using a CAC-1372 (ultra high speed cable). I was able to get 4K120Hz 12bit 444. So technically it should work going 8k60Hz. But this might be an expensive solutions.

Rumored are they will bring a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 soon. Late first quarter? I don’t know,.

Cable Matters has a new USB-C to HDMI 2.1 Adapter. Product ID 201388.

It’s basically a USB-C version of the CAC-1085 so it probably uses the same Realtek chip. It’s more convenient because it gets power from USB-C (like Club 3D’s USB-C to Dual Link DVI adapters) so it doesn’t need a separate USB power connection like the CAC-1085 does.

Since they probably use the same chip, it might be helpful even if you have a Club 3D product to read information about the Cable Matters product.

Thanks a lot for your answers!

I will see. Maybe it’s worth to wait a bit more. But if I give a try, I will let you know the results!

Thanks again!
