CAC-1335/1336 VRR

Freesync or not?

I don't think so.

Tested: CAC-1336, Radeon RX 580, Acer XV273K.

Windows 10: Freesync can be enabled from direct DisplayPort connection but not from HDMI 2.0 port and CAC-1336.

macOS 12.4: I think a newer GPU is require for VRR.

At least HDR works.

I don't have a GPU with a HDMI 2.1 port.

I guess FreeSync (Adaptive-Sync) Spec is a little bit different to HDMI 2.1 VRR.

If the adapters support HDMI 2.1 VRR to FreeSync (Adaptive-Sync) DP it would be great for the new consoles

I wonder if the adapters are based on the LT6711GX since it lists support for Adaptive-Sync.

Maybe someone could test with xbox and cac-1335

I tested this myself! The cac-1335 does have some edid problem with xbox. It only reaches 1080p120hz without vrr.

So i bought a Dr. HDMI 8k for testing and it really solves the edid problems.

The cac-1335 was able to deliver 1440p120hz without vrr.

But apparently 1440p120hz with vrr works now over hdmi2.0 after playing around with the edid profiles. Seems like i don't need the adapter anymore for xbox.

just for completeness

i tested with the 27gl850 monitor

I also bought cac-1335 for xbox with the same problem only 1080p 120hz, can someone help????

The adapter did not work for me either. Have you tried it via HDMI?

1440p120hz without vrr was possible with my monitor over hdmi (VRR deactivated in the xbox settings and in the monitor settings)

And with the edid manipulator it worked:
With the adapter in 1440p120hz without vrr
And over HDMI in 1440p120hz with vrr

Unfortunately, the Dr. HDMI 8k is expensive

Club3d has not responded if they can repair the adapters edid problems

xiaomi mi curved 34 only signal 1080p 120hz and 720p,

I tried the same thing before in may pc via HDMI agian maximum resolution 1080p

the dr hdmi 8k could probably fix the cac-1335 for you.

But the price is not worth the extra pixels

Hello, can you tell me what are the settings you are using on your dr hdmi 8k and the EDDI that works for you?

You need to download the Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) tool and set the correct resolution for your monitor. There are some tutorials on how to do this. Then you can export an edid.bin. You can load the correctly created edid.bin onto the dr hdmi 8k and replace an existing profile with it. (It does not show well that you have replaced a profile. I mean, it still shows the original TV name and everything, but it should still work. A bit confusing).

You can also try all the dr hdmi 8k default profiles, but I guess that didn't work for you.

You should probably create a edid.bin backup file before you start changing stuff with cru.

Also if your monitor has hdmi: You can connect your pc over hdmi so cru makes hdmi headers.

I think this was the setting which allowed me to do
1440p 120hz with vrr over hdmi2.0
without the cac-1335:

AMD/ATI's driver also listens to the maximum TMDS clock in the "HDMI support" data block. Make sure it's enabled and set to 340 MHz.

To be clear, my CAC-1336 test with Radeon RX 580 should not count as a success with that setup (for non-VRR functionality). I only used that setup since it supported VRR from DisplayPort. See my thread CAC-1336 operation for more testing results.
