Started Sinks or adapters using MCDP2900 DP to HDMI converter chip?
For testing, I'm looking for sinks and adapters using the MCDP2900 chip. I learned from this forum that CAC-2504 is one of them. Do you know others?

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
1920x1080@165Hz is doable with HDMI2.0 to DP1.2 adapters, provided their firmware will let it through. Its only roughly 400(CVTrb)/525(CVT)Mpixel/sec rate.

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
I have yet to be convinced that the SM9000 can do 4k120 4:4:4. We also know DP1.4 can't do it unless doing a small amount of compression. I'd like to see any p…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
@BricoDepot1987 First, I work in the business and want to follow the trends. I know a company called Lontium is working on a chip that can do this stuff, but c…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
@CLUBBIE Be aware, DP1.4 can only do 4k120 with DSC [compression]. If you want to be on top of it all, you need HDMI2.1 on both ends, at least until (if ever)…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
@BricoDepot1987 This thread is about HDMI2.1 to DP1.4. Since DP1.4 has a bit more bandwidth than HDMI2.0, and DP1.4 monitors have been existing for a while, th…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
@net200777 the TV hardware may very well support more than the computer thinks. The EDID data presented by the TV to the PC, contains a list of formats that th…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Please tell how you know this for sure. PC's can easily do virtual 4k120Hz, but send something else over the cable. Also, please do the 4:4:4 chroma test. PS:I…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Hmm.. Then again.. They seem to use this manual for all types. Note that the list of resolutions say "(8k models only)" for the 4k120.. Apparently the 4k monit…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
..I would also assume that the EDID of this TV publishes the latest modes. Maybe this test's graphics drivers could not interpret the latest video modes. It sh…

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Found some confirmation that the 75SM9000PLA TV will do 4k120 or 8k60, although it doesn't say color format. But obviously it supports HDMI2.1.

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Found this note: 4) Only applied to above SM90. Even that is weak specs. What ports? All? One? Some?

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Looks clear at first sight. I wish it was more clear, like in a spec sheet explaining what ports could do what.

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
Please post an official spec link confirming the port capabilities of the monitors you look at.

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
I would not bet on that. That vid proves nothing.

Replied to HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 1.4
You won't get 4:4:4 at that rate. DSC most likely wont be that effective, so you need to wait for Displayport2.x to go there. Im pretty sure you dont have a si…

..but it bothers me that they didn't power it from the DP end through a DP male cable tail on instead of that branching mess. A female DP plug can not utilize…
