Thank you for you reply, so what’s the difference between your mini DP to HDMI adapter cable and this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B010SDAXUK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 which like I say did not work for me.

Thing is when I tried the cable mentioned above I got a message on the screen saying: ‘No display port cable connected’ so what’s to say I wont get the same message by trying your suggested DP/HDMI cable adapter?

I do appreciate your suggestion its just that I hope you can appreciate that I’ve brought so many cables up until now and then had to take them back, that I’m running out of patience with the whole trial and error route, so I just want to know for sure that the next cable I purchase will be the right one.
