CAC-1070 “No Signal” on VIZIO P Series 50″

I have seen other posts complaining about the issues they have been having with the CAC-1070 and i feared for the worst. Unfortunately, i have another monitor that falls into the incompatibility list.

My Setup includes:
AMD R9 390 graphics card (does not have an HDMI 2.0 port)
VIZIO P Series 50″ Ultra HD TV (supports 4k @ 60Hz only through HDMI 2.0)

Upon attatching the CAC-1070 to a DP, and plugging in my HDMI 2.0-Friendly cable into the HDMI 2.0 port on my TV, the signal becomes unrecognizable by the TV.

LoneNF, you and I are having the same issue. I also have a Vizio P series 50 inch and an R9 290x. I was able to get a signal by setting color depth to 8 bit (that is the most our TV will support), but when I change the refresh rate to 60hz I get “no signal” again. What version of Windows are you running? If you have any luck please let us know.

I have a vizio M50-c1 that experiences the same issue. Club3d has failed to respond on any medium at all.

Any idea why?

Sub sampling miss Mach I had a gtx 980 it would only do 4k@30hz on a vizio hdmi2.0 port you need a tv with chroma 4.4.4 ( Samsung LG ) visit rtings.com they have info on what tvs support that chroma

Hi Guy’s,

Please check:

* Color Depth, often default set to 10 bits or even 12 bits. Most TV’s do not support higher than 8 bpc. So set back the color depth to 8 bpc on your pc.

* Make sure to have the latest AMD Crisom driver installed.

* Make sure the HDMI port your using on the TV is HDMI 2.0 capable or 3840x2160p 60HZ capable. Often TV’s have like 4 HDMI ports, but only 1 is suited for “2.0” standard.

*  Turn on “UHD Color” if possible in the settings of your TV for the HDMI port to which your pc is connected.

Thanks MST1407. I already set color depth to 8, that got rid of the “no signal, ” (at 30hz) but the issue is when we set it to 60hz we get “no signal” again. I have tried 4 different versions of the AMD drivers, including the latest ones. Using the right HDMI port…kind of obvious but just to be on the safe side I have tried every HDMI port on the TV. I looked up UHD color, and it appears to be something that only applies to Samsung TVs. There has to be something else that can be done, this is driving me crazy.

Just a thought, I was looking at the P series owners thread on AVS forums and it would appear that some people with Nvidia cards that have native HDMI 2.0 have also lost the ability to do 4k @ 60hz after the latest firmware update 1.3.15-UHD. This could be related to the firmware, is anyone here using something besides 1.3.15-UHD?

did you try set the settings down to 1080p24, then reboot and then up again?
I know it sounds weird but it helped some users …

I tried setting to 1080p30, then reboot and then up again. I’m not sure if 1080p24 is an available option. I will check when I get home.

Well, I tried setting the resolution to 1080p24, rebooting, and then setting it to 4K@60p but that had no effect. I am still stuck with 4K@30p. Is there any way to tell if I have a bad adapter? I was tempted to do an exchange on Amazon, but I know it might be a long time before they get more stock and I get a replacment.

I got it to work albeit with a Macbook Pro. Check my thread here (https://insights.club-3d.com/thread/cac-1170-4k-60hz-finally-working-with-2014-15-retina-macbook-pro-and-vizio-m50-c1/)
