i’ll start by apologizing for my english

I bought this card in excellent condition yesterday, but it seem to have a problem with the fan, its going for topspeed and being insanely noisy, even when im not applying any load to the computer. Idle temps are around 60-70c

When playing games like CSGO i reach temps like 85-90c almost immediately. The noise is unbearable.

I tryed applying new thermal paste, as i thought that might fix the problem. It didn’t.

Any ideas? (:

Hi Klinge. Can you share information about your setup and can you let us know if all previous drivers have been thoroughly sweeped from your system before installing the HD 7870 Joker?

By using the DDU application you can sweep all old driver versions: DDU app

Then proceed to install the brand new AMD Catalyst 15.7 Driver from here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download?

If this process does not solve the issue we need to look for a different solution.

That did the trick! Must have been an issues with a previous driver, but the card is running smooth now.

At first I thought I made a stupid purchase due to all the issues i had, but this card is really kicking now! Actually im so happy, that i decided to buy another 3dclub 7870xt card for some crossfire action (:

Thank you very much!

Excellent news! That’s good to hear. In many situations remains of older driver versions result in cards behaving strange, like fans spinning up etc. Please note that driver 15.7 is out now which supports numerous new features and adds Windows 10 support:
