DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 4K120Hz HDR Active Adapter M/F

7 on 19-12-2020

Can i use this adapter with my Philips 55PUS8204 55″ 4K Ultra HD Smart LED android TV and MSI GTX 1080 ti ARMOR OC. Cable is 5m HDMI 2.0b or AMD 6000 series graphic card? Reason for purchase this adapter: I am thinking of buying an msi 6000 series graphics card recently. And as you know, these new cards have 1 Hdmi input. And when I had bought it, I said, let’s get the best. It may not work in the current system, I know this too, but when I get this card, will it cause a problem?

Hi Digitalman,

First, the adapter will not work with an HDMI 2.0 cable. You will need an HDMI 2.1 cable and no longer than 3 meters. Search for the CAC-1370 – 1371 – 1372 -1373 Ultra high speed hdmi cables.

Second, your TV does not support 4k 120Hz.

If you have a 4K 120Hz TV technically the CAC-1085 would work with the RX 6000 series of AMD (with a HDMI 2.1 cable up to 3 meters). Note that at whatever resolution it will not support VRR (G-sync or Free-sync).

Moreover, my 1080 ti + Hdmi cable worked with 5m 2.0b and Philips TV of course the promised 4K 120hz. can not give it. Because my TV and Cable is not supported that values. But the picture came, so 4K 60hz HDR + HDR 10 + Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos supported all of them.

CAC-1085 works with HDMI 2.0b displays. 4K 120Hz is possible with HDMI 2.0b using 8bpc 4:2:0 chroma sub sampling, but that’s not good enough for HDR. I’m not sure if the CAC-1085 supports 8bpc 4:2:0 chroma sub sampling.
