I always like having the most up to date firmware for my various electronic devices i own. My main issue is the inability to attain 3840×2160 60hz 4:4:4. I am currently using a Dell m7510 laptop with a 4k display and an Nvidia M2000M card. My 4k tv is a Samsung UN40KU6290. I have tried several qualified HDMI 2.0b cables and I still can’t make it to 4:4:4. I will send an email to obtain the firmware information.

I received the download link but when I run the program I get an error message “Oui mismatch”. I am using a Dell TB15 Thunderbolt 3 dock with a Displayport output that the CAC-1070 is attached to, could that be interfering with the update?

I had another laptop with a displayport connection and I updated the CAC-1070 firmware using that laptop. I’m still unable to achieve 4k 60hz 4:4:4. I have a new cable coming and I’m going to give it a try when I get it. I will update at that time.

I just tried another qualified 4K HDMI cable and I am still unable to achieve 4K 60hz 4:4:4. The best I can do is 4K 60hz RGB. I have used the Nvidia custom resolution app and set the timing to ‘CVT reduced blanking’ but still no luck. I am running the connection through my Dell TB15 Thunderbolt 3 dock. Any other suggestions?

Hi Rodorr,

Please try setup first without the docking in between. Dockings often have many active chips inside that could be “in the way”.
When your screen can handle 3840×2160 at 60Hz in 4:4:4 the color depth needs to be 8 Bits BPC otherwise the signal get too big to send over HDMI2.0. Note: the 8 Bits BPC is not the same as the Color Bits Per Pixel (BPP).

I checked the UN40KU6290 manual, after setting HDMI UHD color you should be ok. Are you sure you set your output to 8bit? You wrote you could do 4K 60hz RGB.. that would be great, because RGB is always without subsampling. Only YCbCr has the subsampling feature. I’m also fighting to get 4:4:4 since two months… https://communities.intel.com/thread/111370 and http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4485&title=asrock-uhd-60hz-444-anyone
