How to connect to an 8K display via Mini DP to HDMI? 30hz is enough.

Hi guys as the title suggests I want to connect my DP1.4 to my 8K TV’s HDMI port. 30hz is ok for me. Any ideas? Thanks

I am not entirely sure of what you would like to achieve if for simply connection to your 8k tv than the following cabels are well capeble of doing so.

you could use the The CAC-1182 it will do 4096 x 2160p at 60Hz.

or the CAC-1180 that has an output of 4096 x 2160p at 60Hz. 

However since you mention mini DP these cables are limited to HDMI 2.0 what is not able to do 8k.

Hi,
So if I connect my laptops mini display port 1.4 to my samsung 8k tv using the adapter I specified, I won’t get 8K res? Thanks again.

Yes ofcourse,

My laptop is an Area 51M with RTX 2080, and my tv is a Samsung Q900R 8K 65″

Hello,

both cables advised should work in 8k@30hz if bitrate is set to 8 bit per pixel.
