XL2411 no signal with Club 3D CAC-1010 HDCP On

Hello,

i just bought the Club 3D CAC-1010 (HDCP On) to get 144hz again on my XL2411 because iam running a rtx 3060 Ti that only has displayport and HDMI Slots. Problem is i dont get a signal even though i have dual link DVI Cable, the USB is plugged in from the adapter and the Channel of the monitor is on DVI. However i also have an old BenQ GL2450 and the adapter works well with that monitor without problems but it doesnt help me because that monitor is only capable of 60hz anyway. Any ideas?

Does Windows detect the display?

Does the XL2411 support DHCP? Probably, but I would check the EDID.

Did you try other connection methods? such as the following:

  1. Does the XL2411 work with a HDMI connection from HDMI of GPU to HDMI of display? It will be limited to 60Hz. Strange that the XL2411 doesn’t have a HDMI port that can do 144Hz. I guess it can only do single link up to 165 MHz so they use dual link to get the higher refresh rate.
  2. What if you connect the adapter to the display using a DVI to HDMI connection? It will be limited to 60Hz.
  3. What if you connect the display’s DVI port to the HDMI of the GPU using a HDMI to DVI adapter? It will be limited to 60 Hz.

Windows does not detect the monitor with the adapter. With the other cables(DVI, HDMI) its no problem so the connectors and the cables are fine. And the adapter works as well but only on a different monitor(GL2450 which is even older) i dont need it with.

I dont really understand what you mean with DHCP? Why should i get an IP-adress on my monitor and how do i check the EDID?

Yeah the HDMI of the XL2411 is only limited to 60 hz because it is a very old monitor.

The other options dont really work for me because i want to achieve 144hz. I can get 60 hz just with hdmi.

I meant HDCP. You have the CAC-1010 – HDCP On version. I wonder if it works properly with a display that doesn’t support HDCP.

You can use a utility such as CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) to extract the EDID and save it as a binary or hex file. CRU can view some of the info, but the best utility to see all EDID info is edid-decode. I’m not sure if there’s a Windows version of that. Another option is MonInfo.exe

Each port of the display might have a different EDID. If you can’t get an EDID using a dual link DVI connection, then try a single link HDMI connection to the dual link DVI port.

Could’ve figured that out by myself but it was late. Yeah i was also already thinking that it could be a HDCP-Problem but it says on several websites, that my monitor supports it. Maybe i have the wrong adapter. I ordered a HDCP on one, but it doesnt say so on the box, there is no info on HDCP whatsoever.

What kind of Information about the EDID is necessary? I have found out that my EDID Version is 1.3 (with MonInfo). Same with my other monitor. But when i plug in the adapter into my older Monitor (GL2450) it says 1.4. Or should i post the raw data, i dont know what to do with this information.

Ive connected the older Monitor (GL2450) with the Adapter and my newer Monitor (XL2411) with a HDMI Cable. Both Monitors should support HDCP but the Adapter only gives Signal on the GL2450, but not on the XL2411. Any ideas what iam missing?

The EDIDs of both displays both make no mention of HDCP support. That might not be an indication of lack of HDCP support. Did you test whether different connection types produce different EDIDs? You said you got this EDID by using an HDMI connection. Was it connected to the DVI port or the HDMI port of the display? The EDID shows modes for 1080p 60, 100, 120, and 144 Hz.

A firmware update should work to convert your adapter to the HDCP OFF version. Send an e-mail to [email protected] It might take a while for them to respond.

so i got the firmware update from the support to get the adapter to HDCP Off and it still didn’t work. Tried changing all the DP and USB ports and still nothing.

What helped in the end was cutting the power from my monitor for several minutes and now its working.

Thanks a lot for your help, iam glad that its working now even in 144hz.
