    Hi Ligti,
Please note that on the Radeon cards it can support up to 6 independent displays simultaneously with a combination of ports and displays. As I do not know what model you are using (graphics card) and the displays it is hard for me to advice.

If you can describe for me the parts you are using I will provide you the answers.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
We are not sure what is causing the MST Hub to make your system to stop responding. There is a trick that I always do when this happens but I am not sure if it is going to work for you.
Please power down your system, unplug your power cable from your system and press the power button to drain off completely your computer power. Then reconnect everything to see if this resolves the problem.
Check if on another PC the MST Hub is working properly.
If defective please have it replaced inmediately.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Richard,

Can you check if any of the Windows updates has caused the problem? We know that sometimes Windows updates has an influence on the MST Hub behavior.

This is from Jan 16th updates

Intel(R) HD Graphics Family driver update (v10.18.14.4029)

    • Adds support for the Autodesk Mudbox 2015 paintbrush tool.
    • Ensures that unreadable text does not appear in the Microsoft Outlook calendar pane.
    • Improves performance of video display and zoom features in DirectX applications
    • Adds support for the fast cursor feature when using Miracast adapters, including the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.
    • Ensures there is no flickering/blank display on externally connected monitors, especially when connecting multiple monitors in a daisy-chain configuration
    • Improves compatibility with Samsung U28D590D and Dell 2713Hb monitors. Some customers reported they saw a change in screen resolution when the device is docked and connected to Dell monitor. This has been addressed in the update.
    • Adds additional support to enable better compatibility with Panasonic and Actiontec Miracast adapters
    • Ensures there is no unexpected battery drain while the Surface device is in Connected Standby mode.
    • Resolves KMODE_Exception_Not_Handled system crash when using Excel PowerMap
    • Resolves some instances of Stop 0x9F and Stop 0x133 system crashes.
    • Resolves system hang that could occur if f.lux was enabled by an application.
    • Resolves system crash that could occur when attaching to external monitors immediately after waking the device from sleep or removing it from the docking station.

Marvell Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth driver update (v15.68.3073.151)

    • As part of ongoing improvements to Wi-Fi experience on Surface Pro 3 device, customers now have the ability to manually select a preference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections for their device. We will publish a separate blog to describe this functionality further so more customers can take advantage of this capability.
    • Modifies power management logic to allow the wireless adapter to function properly when the Hyper-V feature is enabled in Windows.
    • For European Union customers, there are specific requirements outlined in EN 300 328 v1.8.1. This update includes capabilities to stay current on these requirements, including an LE switch to better control energy detection and Bluetooth Power setting.
    • Resolves a low throughput scenario when using Cisco 3702 access points in 11ac mode.

Surface Home Button driver update (v2.0.1179.0)

    • Improves compatibility with Surface Hub application.

    Surface Integration driver update (v2.0.1182.0)

    • Improves compatibility of Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10.

Microsoft Docking Station Audio Device driver update (v1.31.35.7)

    • Addresses scenario where no sound would play while the device was docked without an external speaker connected.

    Hi John,

Here is the list that solves the 2.3

The uninstaller cannot be started in OS X 10.9.5 and 10.10. (17859)

Garageband audio input not available with DL-3x00 devices. (16325)

DisplayPort audio can become inactive after USB cable re-plugs. (17259)

Sometimes the DisplayLink device can fails to read EDID on resume from S3/S4. (17297)

Sometimes monitors connected to DisplayLink device remains blank after resuming from standby. (17453, 17353, 17554)

The Ethernet link should be off when DisplayLink device is disconnected from the host. (17018)

Monitor EDID was incorrectly interpreted, if the monitor id contained an underscore (_). (17606)

DisplayPort++ to DVI adapters can display incorrect available mode list. (17427)

Ethernet UDP performance might drop when playing video and audio over a DisplayLink device. (17579)

Monitor contents not refreshed after replugging USB during sleep. (17488)

Do any of these issues represent the one you are having?
Please note that you need to use the uninstaller under the displaylink folder to install your current drivers before you install the new ones.
Check after installing if you can do a diskutil/repair permissions in your main hard disk.
    Kind regards.

    Hi Smoggle,
I am not sure what monitors you have and what resolutions you plan playing.
At 1080p you should be fine with your system.

    Hi,

Do you get a screen on the DVI port?
Please boot on your DVI port and when your system is up and running, plug the MST Hub with the corresponding power supply. Then plug the monitor to the MST Hub. If the monitor is not detected please use the scan button.

    Hi Smoogle,
    The main difference between both GPUs are as follows;
    R9 280X VS R9 280
Effective memory clock speed: 6,000Mhz vs 5000, 20% higher memory clock
Floating-point performance: 3,482 GFLOPS vs 2,964 GFLOPS, 15% better floating point performance
Clock Speed: 1,000Mhz vs 960Mhz, 4% higher clock speed
Memory clock speed: 1,500 vs 1,250Mhz, 20% higher memory clock speed

    Hi,
We have quite a few users using the MST Hub with Quadro solutions and generally speaking it works. Screen setups is based on the driver support.
The MST Hub is not dependent on a GPU preference as it ask as a MST or SST. Also works on Intel based GPUs, preferable on the HD5000 series.
On the Quadro line up, your K620 supports MST, footnote 4

    Hi Smoogle,
    Welcome to Insights!
    Based what I read in the net the H1Z1 game will run if you have this PC requirements based on Planetside 2 game;

For Intel users with Nvidia GPU:

    • Core i5-661 3.33 GHz
    • NVidia GeForce GTX 560

    For AMD users

    • Phenom II X4 910
    • Radeon HD 6870

These are the recommended requirements but what about the minimum requirements?

For Intel users with Nvidia GPU:

    • Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 GHz
    • Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB

    For AMD users

    • Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition
    • Radeon HD 4850

Therefore a R9 280 will run fine based on your system specifications.
In regards to the other two ports you mentioned, those are Mini DisplayPort outputs. The Displayport output has the same benefits as HDMI as it can transfer video and sound but has a higher bandwidth as you can run resolutions up to 4096×2160 at 60Hz.
If you plan to add a third display that is not DisplayPort capable, then you have to use an active adapter on those ports to make the proper conversion to whatever connector you want to use. If you want to add a fourth display you need to do the same.
The R9 280 is capable to run up to 6 displays but you need to use a MST Hub.

If you have further questions please post here.

    Hi Link,
    Sorry for the late reply.
If you have active adapters and you get no display there must be something wrong in the driver setup.
Please remove all the catalyst software in safe mode and reinstall again. Check if the latest Catalyst driver is causing this problem and if yes, use the Catalyst 14.9 to see if that is the case.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Heim,
Sorry to hear about the Matrox issue. They do make great solutions and to be honest, also very practical for people who wants to setup a simple way to have multi-displays.
For the DP 1.1 please note that it has 10.8Gbps instead of 21.6Gbps found on DP 1.2, therefore you are limited to two displays at 1200p.
On our product page, go to system requirements and I have placed a chart which you can see the number of displays supported. HBR (DP1.1) and HBR2 (DP1.2).
