The GPU lives!
I looked up how atiflash.exe worked and discovered a (quite serious) flaw in the .bat files: They both flashed to GPU 0!
This meant that first, I would correctly flash the master BIOS to GPU 0 (the master GPU), but after that I would immediately overwrite it with the slave BIOS, while also leaving the slave BIOS at an older version.
Once I had changed slave.bat to write to GPU 1, it flashed correctly and my GPU is now running happily without CSM
Thanks for the help, I hope this will prevent future failed flashes.
Regards,
NielsxIntensoParticipantP.S.
I am curious as to how the master.bat and slave.bat select the correct GPU’s, because the commands listed in the .bats only differ in the name of the BIOS they have to flash.Should I be selecting the device to flash to in some way?
xIntensoParticipantHi Paul,
I’m located in the Netherlands.
I flashed the BIOS with the following procedure.– Create a DOS USB with Rufus
– Put Motherboard BIOS in Lecacy mode and boot from USB
– Copy atiflash.exe, the 2 BIOS files and the .bat files to the root of the USB
– Run master.bat
– Run slave.bat
– RebootI’ll try the slider button and will report back soon.
Could you try to explain the flash procedure in detail?
xIntensoParticipantBy the way, if I can boot with the iGPU, that means that the BIOS does not see the GPU anymore.

xIntensoParticipantDear Paul,
Running the commands from a DOS USB does work.
However, the GPU now gives no image whatsoever after flashing (I tried multiple times). When i boot with the iGPU of my CPU enabled, however, I can see the GPU in device manager.
Any idea how to fix this?

NielsxIntensoParticipantHi,
When I try to run the program, I get an error message saying that atiflash.exe is a non-supported 16-bit application that cannot run on Windows 64-bit.
I hope that this information helps.

NielsxIntensoParticipantAny news yet?
xIntensoParticipantHi Paul,
The flashing utility seems to be made for a 32-bit OS, but I am currently running Windows 8.1 64-bit, so I cannot run it.
Could you send me a 64-bit version of the flash utility? Thanks!
xIntensoParticipantDone!
xIntensoParticipantHi Paul,
I haven’t been contacted yet.
Is there any news?Regards,
