Hey I have a MacBook Pro 1M, and I’m using a docking station to which I’m connecting a 31.5″ LG monitor with NVIDIA G-Sync. I want to buy the Club3D Active CAC-2070 to make the monitors refresh rate higher and I wanted to ask if it’ll work on IOS.
It is not recommended using an active adapter via a docking station.
An adapter will not make your monitors refresh rate (Hz) go higher than it actually is. What LG monitor do you use? If it’s 60Hz it will stay 60Hz.
FPS is depending on the hardware not on the adapter. Only way to increase FPS is to get a better source.
As it’s an M1 I would suggest to use an USB-C to HDMI adapter directly in 1 of the 2 ports on the M1.
Is your display 4K60Hz then the CAC-2504

Is your display 4K120Hz then the CAC-1586
My display highest resolution is 2560×1440 I bought the CAC-1082 cable, to connect the monitor to the docking station that is connected to the computer.
I think it’s highest refresh rate is 165Hz
Assuming it’s this display:

The lag is probably caused due to connecting it trough a docking station.
I would highly suggest to use a CAC-1557 directly into your MacBook.

30Hz is most likely also caused due to the dockingstation not having DP1.4 but DP1.2. Which lowers the bandwidth.
I see, correct that does not support your desired resolutions.
It is also a DisplayLink dock, which means it does not use the power of your M1 GPU.
Problem is with M1 it does not support dual display setup without the use of DisplayLink or the CSV-1595 which uses an other chipset.
But you may still use the dock with your 1x 1080p60Hz display and use the CAC-1557 directly in the M1 to use your 1440P144Hz display. This way you can still run 2 displays of your M1.
Note that DisplayLink does not like 3D graphics using for example Vulcan or DirectX (gaming, CAD applications).
So, you suggest to connect one to the docking station and one to the Mac with a cable and a DP connect to the other monitor?
And another thing is that I have only tow connections to the Mac, one for the charger and one for the docking station. So I can’t connect the monitor to the Mac.
What do you suggest to do? And if buying a docking station that supports the resolution will solve the problem?
I think I made a little mess here.
So I can’t connect cable from the Mac to the monitor because both of the ports of the Mac are occupied.
Do you think buying a better docking station that supports the resolution will solve the problem?
Your solution is actually to connect one monitor with cable to the Mac and the other monitor will be connected to the computer with the docking station?
OK, please give me all the details regarding both displays. At the moment info keeps changing or added and it’s getting hard to suggest solutions at this stage :P.
Display 1 1440p144Hz (provide a link to this display)
Display 2 1080p60Hz (provide a link to this display)
What peripherals are used, think mouse keyboard etc. I want to know the whole setup with details.
Thanks!
