I have connected the usb 3.2 gen 1 type a to hdmi to my Macbook Air 2011, macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra. Nothing happens. No additional HDMI Monitor port is visible on the Mac system. I did not see any rescrictions for Mac OS so I thought that it should work. Do I have to do any kind of installation? There is only an installation guide for Windows, not for Mac.

Do you mean the CSV-1474?

Install DisplayLink drivers for macOS High Sierra.

Macbook Air 2011 has a Thunderbolt port. For best video output, this is the preferred connection. It’s limited to 2560×1600@60Hz. Maybe it can do 4K30. The advantage over DisplayLink is that the display is connected directly to the GPU. DisplayLink uses USB and therefore requires CPU power to compress the image.
