Hi Club3D,

I got a problem with my two 290X’s that I don’t seem to get rid off with newer drivers.

My screen flickers like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMf8tSZplbg

Also noticable in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tWdIFoysFI (around 0:01, you see one flash)

This happens in BF4, GTA5 and Project CARS and is only visible when CrossFireX is enabled. I don’t have the flickering the whole time, just every 5 minutes or so.. And just one flash.

Hope you guys can help me out.

Hi Vinnie,
Thank you for contacting us.
Can you answer these questions for us?
Can you detail your system specifications and OS?
Are you overclocking your system?
Have you clean your drives with DDU and reinstall your driver?
Is your system BIOS up to date?
Is your system chipset driver up to date?
Is your sound driver up to date?

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your reply. I do not overclock my system. I don’t want to damage my system or reduce its lifespan.

My system is the following:
Intel i7 2600K
8GB Corsair DDR3-1600 RAM
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 motherboard (with the latest BIOS installed)
Creative X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty soundcard
Antec 1200 v2 case
Enermax Revolution 1020W
2x Club3D 290X BF4 edition in CrossfireX
Windows 8.1 Professional x64 legal (with all the latest updates installed)

I totally formatted and reinstalled my system two weeks ago.
I don’t have a chipset driver installed. I can try that.
My sound driver is up to date.

I can find two chipset drivers on the Gigabyte site:
– Intel INF installation
– Intel Management Engine Interface

Should I install both?

Do you have V-Sync activated in the game? Please check your game settings and place them in your Catalyst Control Center under gaming, click the add and place the game in there

Yes I have V-Sync activated in all my games. So I have to disable V-Sync in my games, and enable it in the CCC?

Paul

Hi,
Did you try and see if did resolve the problem?
Also did you test the latest Catalyst Beta 15.5?

Vinnie

It seems to have fixed the problem, thanks! I am using the latest official BETA driver by the way, 15.5. Does it decrease the performance when I force it through the CCC?

Paul

The BETA was built to resolve some issues with some games and also to support FREESYNC
