Ok, so.. Initial report is 120hz and 100hz work with 422 @ 8bit and 10bit limited. I am trying to create a custom res of 4k 96hz 10bit full 444 and being unsuccessful so far.

@Club3D. Seems that you need to add some more resolutions to the EDID. Make 4k 10 bit 96 or it might be 98hz @ 10bit 444.

I was able to force 3840×2160 10bit full @ 98hz with CRU but when I try activate it, it doesn’t work. It looks like the left upper corner is visible and stretched.

You both have a 1080ti or a samsung tv, these things were designed for RTX and LG C9’s

So it’s no real suprise you are running into issues.

I have a c9.

on 09-07-2020

I have a rtx 2080. And the Samsung has dsc 1.2 like the specs. The specs don’t say any thing about lg tv’s😅

Those samsungs, don’t even have a proper hdmi2.1, it’s just a hdmi2.0 with increased bandwidth isn’t it?

Anyway, i’ve yet to see anyone post with a RTX and a C9, so we shall see.

I’m not having any troubles running the stock 100hz, 120hz limited 8 bit, 10bit 4k. Please, reread my post.

on 12-07-2020

Yes but you said in your first post you have a 1080ti, on  the product page it states RTX + hdmi 2.1 recommended, so really whatever you can get out of the adapter is just luck. and you will most likely run into issues

Video card needs to support DSC1.2, which i beleive only the RTX/Navi series does.

What are you plugging in for power?

I have RTX 2080 and LG C9.

I’ve tried to use the CAC-1085 and it doesn’t work. On my TV there is a “No Signal” notation.

Also, I’ve tested out the CAC-1085 with my LG 27UL850 monitor and MacBook Pro, the result is the same: there is no signal.

@Club3D, do you know what kind of issue do I have and how can I resolve it? Or maybe my CAC-1085 doesn’t work at all because of some manufactory defect?

on 13-07-2020

you should probably email them

on 13-07-2020

Yeah, I did it.

on 13-07-2020

Are you sure your HDMI 2.1 cable is good?

on 13-07-2020

Yes, I am sure. I had one but I bought the new one just to double-check if maybe my old HDMI cable was not good enough. The result is the same.

on 13-07-2020

The issue was in the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour setting. It was on by default.

I’ve switched it off and I am able to see the image on my TV.

But, I am not able to get 120Hz for 2160p resolution. I have only up to 60Hz.

It’s possible to get 120Hz only for 1080p resolution for “Ultra HD, HD, SD” settings. All “PC” settings are 60Hz only.

When I use only RTX2080+LG C9 without CAC-1085, I have the same situation with settings.

But, when I switch on the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour setting of my TV, I am able to use the “PC” settings of resolutions and get 120Hz for 1440p.

But, as I mentioned above, there is no way to use HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour setting via CAC-1085.

Also, with HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour setting off I am not able to create a Custom Resolution on my PC via CAC-1085.

I continue chatting with Club3D support.

1440p and 120hz is hdmi 2.0, that works whit my rtx 2080 directly to my tv.

Wat I see is as long as it works in the hdmi 2.0 specs the CAC-1085 works. When I switch to the hdmi 2.1 settings I get problems.

I’m going to return the cac-1085. And advice that you do not buy this product. It’s clear whit which tv this product work.

on 13-07-2020

DJanssen, how do you switch from HDMI 2.0 to the HDMI 2.1 setting? What exactly did you mean?

on 13-07-2020

I have a hdmi 2.0 poort and a hdmi 2.1. If I put the cac-1085 in a the hdmi 2.0 poort it works. I looks like the there is a problem in the handshake between the Tv, cac-1085 and the rtx 2080 in hdmi 2.1 mode. It can be the tv(firmware) or the cac-1085 or the Nvidia drivers… But I feel now like I’m a tester for club3d… if they tell us which tv thy tested and which Nvidia drivers… we can find out where the problem is… now it can be any thing.

on 13-07-2020

On my LG C9 all 4 HDMI ports are 2.1.

But something doesn’t work for me as well.
