Good day,

I just purchased this cable: DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 Cable M/M 2m/6.56ft.

My concern is that is my monitor ACer XB271Hu is compatible with the mention cable? My monitor has a 1.2 dp port with hbr2 speed And as i saw the cable is 1.4 with hbr3 speed and 20pin.Is the 20th is connected? I mean it doesn’t deliver any power in it?What I have read on the other forums that if 20th pin is connected it can cause problem either in the monitor either in the computer(VGA). Please answer for me that am I able to use this cable safely with my monitor without any problem? Or do you recommend to use the cable out of the monitor box?

I just wanted to change it for the premium cable to get most of out my monitor.

Thanks for your replies.

Hello Selynelar,

you can be assured that it works, I have no idea where you get your information form but. DP 1.4 Cables are fully backwards compatible.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort

Please read this carefully and then you can check the sources below the article, most Club3D cables are VESA certified. Vesa is the creator of Displayport they will not certify cables that break your monitor, if that was the case Displayport would no longer be used 😉

A cable has always a connector reserved for power, this has been that way since DP1.0 all up to DP1.4

Enjoy your premium cable 😀
