CVS-5400 & Windows 10 – Random Display Blackouts, Black Screen/No Signal

Updated on 07-09-2016 in MST Hub

Since I got this CVS-5400 MST HUB I have been having a problem with my ASUS VE248 monitors going black and then not coming back on. I do remote support and the screens with black out using the CVS-5400 MST and once the are out not even pushing the button will bring them back on. When the monitors are plugged into my cards directly they are fine. I am running the latest AMD drivers. They are connected via DVI to Display port cables from Monoprice since HDMI has a display refresh limitation.

Any ideas on if this is a known defect or if there is an update for the firmware of the MST hub?

I have seen this kind of issue with Accel MST hubs.

Good day

Please checkand disable any Engergy Safe mode both the system and the screens might have.
And we did receive new firmware you can have access to. I will send that by email.

on 12-08-2016

I just downloaded the firmware update but it says that I am missing LIBEAY32.DLL, any idea why that would happen?

on 15-08-2016

Hi Deneteur,
My bad 🙁
That error is due to the fact that you actually do need that file and we did nto provide it.
Folder is update with correct files now as well as Update Procedure.

on 15-08-2016

I tried it Friday and it could not read the firmware and gave an error and froze. I am going to see if it will let me do it on another computer.

on 15-08-2016

i tested it personally today on a R9 270, worked liek a charme.
Here again the link to the Folder with Firmware, DLL and Bin files and i the procedure in PDF.

My cards are connected in crossfire so I don’t know how it affects the tool. I am going to try it on another machine that has an NVIDIA card to see if it reads it.

on 16-08-2016

The log file on another PC with a single AMD card gives the following error.

Gfx Selection = 0
Graphics adapter initialization – NVIDIA: failed! (-6)
Graphics adapter initialization – AMD: done!
AMD Adapter num = 6
Active Adapter# 0 (Num of Disp = 8)
No available connector!
Graphics adapter initialization – Intel (LS-PCON): failed! (-2147221164)

Crossfire/SLI can be a problem for the Updater program.
So what happens after you “refreshed” the graphics adapter ?
You selected the bin files and clicked on start ? You got an error message ?

Hi Deneteus,

I got some of the same errors that you had as well.

Feedback from programmer: he update the config file, which I placed on dropbox together with some additional bin files that in some cases could be needed according to him …

I will continue testing myself tomorrow here as well on as many different platforms and graphics as I can, but so far it looks good.

Here’s the dropbox link

I’ll test this updated config as soon as I get back to the machine.

Success! It was weird at first it did not work and then the screen flashed and I was able to see AMD and flash. The log file shows.

Did you check what firmware does it show now ?
I got feeback that it updated to version 0.58 …

I got mad and re-did the config file myself and added the 060 Firmware bin files.

Nice. Let me try it.

any luck with this ?

I got to a point where the MST hub wasn’t being recognized by windows and got sidetracked by life. Just got back from a convention. I’ll test it tonight.
