Hi,

Having a nightmare need help, Ive bought 3 different adapters online and none work, none are yours. I have an HP Pavillion laptop 15-cs0511sa which has a usb-c port which doubles as a displayport. I have a monitor connected via the hdmi port on my laptop to a monitor. i would like to connect a monitor also to the usb-c port of my laptop to give me 2 monitors. my 2 monitors are Samsung C27F390 27-Inch Curved LED Monitors which only have hdmi ports. Is this possible, i hope so

Thanks

Hello bunderstuk,

That should not be a problem. With a CAC-1504 you should be able to do that.

Please set the screen connected via the Club3D Adapter as main/primary screen.

In general

  • Setup

Setups with TV’s normally work best by making a custom resolution, 3840*2160 at 60 Hz with Timing Standard set to CVT-RB (Reduced Blanking).

(For setups with Monitors Timing Standard can remain on “auto”.)

On most TV’s you will need to do some settings like “Enhanced Mode”/ “PC-Mode” and/or “UHD Color” for the HDMI 2.0 port in use.

Please make sure the HDMI port of the Screen/TV supports 4K 60 Hz, often not all HDMI inputs support that.

Please make the HDMI Cable you are using, supports 4K 60Hz / 18Gbps.

Kind regards

Please try to update/re-install the USB driver for your Notebook.

Did HP have any tips or tricks?

I mean since you have already tried 3 different adapters before trying the CAC-1504, the chance that the problem comes from all these adapters (and certainly ours) is not very large …

If you send an email to [email protected] they will send you the latest firmware update for the adapter, but that will of course only help if that is where the issue comes from which is not very likely.

Please aslo check for latest Graphics Drivers ..

  • Graphics Drivers

Using the upgrade feature to update Graphics drivers can cause issues, because old files can remain in the registry of windows and can be “in the way”.

Please make a new clean driver installation to make sure that part is ok.

Please uninstall the current Graphics driver and all related Graphics software like Afterburner/GPU-Z or whatever graphics related software you might have installed.

Best way to remove Driver Software is to boot Windows in Safe mode, so the registry can also be cleaned.

If your system does not allow you to do that, you can also use a program like DDU to remove such software: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

Also, please manually delete the AMD / Nvidia Folder from your C drive.

When done, reboot and manually download and install latest available driver for your Card (don’t let any auto installer do that).

Hi,

Laptop was sent away at Currys, they have said usb-c is not capable of being converted to hdmi as the transfer rate is fast enough.

Have i got my understanding correct here. The usb-c port needs to support alt mode in order to be able to be converted to hdmi or does the dongle convert all usb-c port that double up as a displayport.

My laptop usb-c port spec on HP is –

1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 HDMI 1.4; 1 RJ-45; 1 headphone/microphone combo.

Any ideas.
