what ratio per card of active to passive adapters is needed for 12 monitors setup?

I have two eyefinity 6 7850 cards.

To run 12 monitors without crossfire in other words 12 independent monitors how many active passive adapters do I need minimum per card?

also will a passive mini dp to dp adapter to an active dp to dvi adapter be active and work in the same way had I gone straight from mini dp to dvi active adapter?

Hi Jon,

You need 4 active adapters per card if you do not have DP displays.
