MST Hub (1-3 DP) – Surface 3 – Flicker

Updated on 27-06-2015 in MST Hub

I am using the newest MST hub (1-3 DP) with a Surface 3. It is driving three Dell u2514 monitors (1920×1200 each). This is right at the limit of what the Surface 3 supports. (So close to that limit, the built in MST chaining on the monitors did not work).

I have noticed on one of the monitors, it will periodically flicker off and back on. It is just a second. Almost like it loses video.

There is no pattern to it, but was curious if anyone had any suggestions.

Thanks!

Brad

Hi Brad,
Did you try pushing the scan/reset button?
Please check if also you can reset the monitor.

Reset/scan on the MST Hub? Where is that located?

Thanks. The rest button doesn’t seem to help. When I lose the monitor, it only happens for a moment and see to come back.

I’m going to see if it follows the monitor/cable on other ports on the MST Hub.

I have the same issue with my very new CSV-5300A + Microsoft Surface 3 Pro + 2 x BenQ GW2765HT monitors. Any ideas?

I mean in my case both monitors flicker constantly. I am also using them with another notebook via DP – they are perfectly ok!

I am running 3 24″ Dell displays on my Surface Pro 3 with no issue. Note that I am NOT chaining them. The only time there are issues is when docking and undocking, and a reset of the MST hub solves the problem.

Ok, then I probably have another issue. Already sent back the item to the vendor.
