I ran into the same issue. Just curious which adapter do you use with the Apple Cinema HD Display?
I have invested in Club 3D adapter CAC-1510-A HDCP off version. When I get back from a 20-30 minutes break, the Apple Cinema display is recognised just fine. However, when I am away for 1-2 hours and both displays are in Lock Screen, the Apple Cinema Display remains black, but still shows up as secondary monitor in System Preferences. Unfortunately I still have to reboot my Mac or unplug the adapter. That is pretty annoying. Is there anything else I can check?
