USB-C to Oculus Rift (HDMI)

iMac 5k 2017 running Windows 10 (which only has USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 for video connection).

I’ve tried 5 or 6 different USB-C to HDMI adapters (most with 4k @ 60hz support) and they all have issues. The most common is that it works for about 10 – 20 minutes, then starts to flicker to static (like an old TV that’s not getting signal) and gets worse and worse over time. Still kind of usable, but pretty annoying! (Recorded a video of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5ykN5f3sKQ)

Is the CAC-1504 “USB 3.1 Type C to HDMI 2.0 UHD Active Adapter” meaningfully different than the adapters I would have tried so far? It’s the first I’ve seen that advertises 1080@120FPS support which makes it seem promising..  Don’t suppose anyone has experience to confirm it would solve my issues?

Good day,
Since we do not know the cause of you issue we really cannot say for certain that our adapter will solve it. What we can say for certain is that our CAC-1504 adapter is tested on MAC’s and working just fine in 4K 60Hz.

What screen do you have?
What HDMI Cable do you use?

This is for connecting to an Oculus Rift (in the title). It has its own HDMI cable that I need to connect to an iMac. The only issue is that it’s between the supported resolutions / framerates listed.

It runs at 2160×1200 (1080×1200 per eye) at 90Hz. It’s well within the throughput limits of the 1504, so hopefully would work..?
