Club 3D DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D not working

Updated on 07-07-2020 in DisplayPort 1.4 to 4K120Hz HDMI Adapter.

I have a mid 2012 Apple Mac Pro. I also have an Apple 30″ Cinema HD Display.

To make this machine Metal compliant I replaced the original graphics card with a Radeon Pro WX 7100 graphics card. This card has 4 full display ports.

The cable that came with the Radeon Pro WX 7100 does connect to the Cinema Display and it does render an image, but it does not deliver the full resolution of 2560 by 1600, instead it is at 1200 by 800.

Your adapter was suggested to me on the Radeon forum. I ordered it from Amazon and it was just delivered.

Unfortunately, after hooking it up, I am getting nothing but a black screen. Before I return it, I thought I would see if there is anything I should try or know more about this situation.

Thank you.

Hi there, its an odd situation , the Radeon Pro should be able to delivery 2560*1600 resolution so thats a bit odd that it does not do it. Our DP to DVI adapter should also work under this scenario – and we might suspect an HDCP on / off issue, as Club3d have encounter that with the Apple Cinema display. Could you send a mail to support@club-3d.com perhaps they can help you further with a firmware update

Insert Image Size must be less than < 5MB.

On the Apple forum it has been suggested to me that the USB needs a 5 volt power source and to accomplish this I could plug it into an extra iPhone / iPad USB charger.

I’ll wait for your reply and send all of this to the support@club-3d.com address.

Thank you for your reply.

BTW: Here is the link to the ongoing Apple forum conversation, where I started and where I am at.

I forwarded all of the information, including my most current attempt with powering the unit with iPhone charger -that did not work either, to the support address above.

At this point I am not very hopeful.

USB C should already have enough power – i think they might refer to the DP to DVI version which has a separate USB connection
