Club 3D Adaptor DisplayPort > DVI-D (Active Dual) screen going blank

Dear all, 

I just received the DP -> DVI-D adaptor so that I am able to use my new graphics card on my old 144Hz Asus monitor. I connected the adaptor and was able to select 144Hz on the Nvidia Settings tool. However after some seconds the screen blanks out and comes back after 1-2 seconds. This is repeats every 5 – 10 seconds. 

Any ideas?

Do you have the USB from the DP side connected to a USB Source for power?

Yes, I did. I connected it to an empty USB slot

PC Specs are:

MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X (6GB) 

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (AM4, 3.60GHz, 6-Core)

ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus
