    Hello Azul,

Question 1 – to understand this correctly you are connecting RX570 + CSV-5300H – HDMI cable to HDMI Input  – this is not working? No Screen? can you advise what is the resolution that you are using?

Question 2 – 2nd GPU +CSV-5400 ( this is with DP Output ) Please note that for eyefinity to work you can use two passive adapters + 4 active adapters to enable 6Displays

Please try to update/re-install the USB driver for your Notebook.

Did HP have any tips or tricks?

I mean since you have already tried 3 different adapters before trying the CAC-1504, the chance that the problem comes from all these adapters (and certainly ours) is not very large …

If you send an email to [email protected] they will send you the latest firmware update for the adapter, but that will of course only help if that is where the issue comes from which is not very likely.

Please aslo check for latest Graphics Drivers ..

    • Graphics Drivers

Using the upgrade feature to update Graphics drivers can cause issues, because old files can remain in the registry of windows and can be “in the way”.

Please make a new clean driver installation to make sure that part is ok.

Please uninstall the current Graphics driver and all related Graphics software like Afterburner/GPU-Z or whatever graphics related software you might have installed.

Best way to remove Driver Software is to boot Windows in Safe mode, so the registry can also be cleaned.

If your system does not allow you to do that, you can also use a program like DDU to remove such software: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

Also, please manually delete the AMD / Nvidia Folder from your C drive.

When done, reboot and manually download and install latest available driver for your Card (don’t let any auto installer do that).

    Hello MRC00I88,

It sounds like the system does not recognize the EDID coming the adapter from screen at boot up. Normally a good work around that would be to make a Custom resolution in the graphics driver.

    In general

    • Setup

Setups with TV’s normally work best by making a custom resolution, 3840*2160 at 60 Hz with Timing Standard set to CVT-RB (Reduced Blanking).

(For setups with Monitors Timing Standard can remain on “auto”.)

On most TV’s you will need to do some settings like “Enhanced Mode”/ “PC-Mode” and/or “UHD Color” for the HDMI 2.0 port in use.

Please make sure the HDMI port of the Screen/TV supports 4K 60 Hz, often not all HDMI inputs support that.

Please make the HDMI Cable you are using, supports 4K 60Hz / 18Gbps.

    • Custom Resolution Intel Graphics Software

Making that Custom resolution in the Intel Graphics Driver should be something like this …

Open Intel Graphics Control Panel, choose “Custom Resolutions” (left bottom option) It will ask you if you wish to continue; YES
Standard the “Basic” setting is shown, click on “Advanced”, make sure you make this custom resolution for the correct screen (left bottom)
Fill in; Width 3840; Height 2160; Refresh Rate 60 ; Set Timing Standard to CVT-RB for use with TV (and for use with Monitor you can leave that on “Auto”).

If possible, please set Color Depth BPC to 8 Bit. and click on “ADD” on the right bottom of the window. Now this resolution I added to the system and can be chosen.
Go back to “General Settings” (left top), it will show the basic options and here you can now choose the 3840×2160 resolution at 60Hz.
(You might need to so a reboot first)

    Regards

    Hello bunderstuk,

That should not be a problem. With a CAC-1504 you should be able to do that.

Please set the screen connected via the Club3D Adapter as main/primary screen.

    Hello jojo61,

Unfortunately you cannot really tel the adapter “to output to convert from RGB to YCrCb 4:2:0”.

You can only tell your Graphics Card to do so, in the Graphics Driver Software you should be able to do so. Sometimes you will need to make a custom resolution for this.

    Hello Drosky,

Different Screens send the EDID info in different manners. So it is not so much “Monitor dependent” but more “EDID dependent” is the source system can recognize incoming EDID via the adapter of the Screen. If not, then the source system will choose a resolution itself, which is what you don’t want …

Sometimes an update of the firmware of the Screen can help, often crating a custom resolution can help (that normally overwrites what the system would automatically do).

We did not offer the CAC-2504 as being able to do HDR because there were no Source Systems available yet in the market (to our knowledge) that would offer such specs over USB C.

The CAC-2504 has the same chipset inside as the CAC-1080 and also has support for HDMI 2.0a and HDMI 2.0b 🙂

    Hello Tysonflint,

You card supports 6 screens in total, so it will not recognize the 7th screen, no matter how you connect that via MST Hub or Directly to the graphics card. The only work around this is to place an extra graphics card, or use an external USB Graphics adapter.

Good to hear you got the 6 screens running. Strange it did not work with 4 screens on the MST Hub and 2 directly. That should work in 4 x 1920×1080 at 60Hz !

    What Screens do you have?

    Good day tysonflint,

We don’t think you are very “far off”.

We know R9 290X can feed 6 screens, and that the AMD Driver Software is decent for use with 6 screen both in extended as in Single Large Surface Mode. We know the CSV-6400 works, and we knwo the screens work. That leaves the Cable / Adapters.

An MST Hub is an active device (with DP++ outputs) meaning you should use passive DP to DVI Adapters. And we strongly advise against using DP to HDMI and then HDMI to DVI Adapters.

Please just use Passive DP to DVI Adapters like our CAC-1000

    https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2374/displayport_to_dvi_d_single_link_passive_adapter/

Connect the screens via MST Hub 1 by 1 and forst set resolution to 1920×1080 before connecting the next.

In the AMD Driver in advanced settign you can make a “preset setting”. When you are done setting up teh 6 screens, we would advise you to make such a prese setting and save that. Whenever you PC loosses your preferred settign for whatever reason, you can just go back to it by loading your preset.

The problem is often not really linux itself, but more the Grpahics Driver software for Linux …
