Sorry Knightman for the late reaction.
Yes Windows should recognize all 5 displays even without Catalyst.
“Normally” when you use more than 2 screens without DP input you will need to use active adapters for screens 3 (and 4 and 5 …etc). In this case the MST Hub acts as an active device and therefore you should be able to use “normal” or “passive” cables.
The “temp loss of signal” however does looks like a cable/adapter issue. Could you let me know which cables and adapter you are using (and length) ?
You can always use a 3rd party cooler. I know that some users use a Arctic Accelero IV and/or a Gelid Solutions ICY Vision A.
If you prefer an original Cooler, than please send an email to [email protected] so they can check for you if they have Coolers available for your card.
Hi All,
MST Feature is supported by the OS so there’s no such thing as a driver for the CSV-5200.
Also not sure what an HD 6470 M is but i suspect it is a GPU use in a Notebook.
Normally HD 6000 series grpahics does have DP1.2 output, however sometime Notebook manufacturers limit the amount a external screens you can connect. So please check that with the Notebook vendor.
A Displayport 1.2 output has enough bandwidth to out out
1 x 3840×2160 at 60Hz (24bits)or
2 x 2560×1440 at 60Hz (24bits) or
4 x 1920×1080 at 60Hz (24bits)
Again this could be limited by the Notebook vendor.
An MST Hub is an active device, the CSV-5200 will be powered by connecting the USB connector (please connect this to a native usb port of the system so you are sure it can actually provide power) and screens con be connecte dto the HUB with “normal” or “passive” cables.
First make sure that in Windows the screen is recognized (sometime the screens need to be “activated / enabled” manually in windows)and in correct Resolution and frequency (and color depth) before configuring Multi Monitor setups like Eyefinity.
Hi krentebol,
Unfortunately i cannot see you posting anywhere …
Please send an email to [email protected] so we can assist
Ah ok, sorry misunderstood you there.
Unfortunately AMD has decided to only make those game-vouchers available at certain of their Channel partners. So i am truly sorry but i don’t have any to give out, otherwise i would have been more than willing to do so.
Hello Benjamin,
That should not e an issue.
Tests pointed out that there’s hardly any difference between CPI Express 3.0 and 2.0 and also not much difference X16 and X8. So if you have 2 x PCI-Express X16 slots you should be fine !
Of cause as time progresses, the performance of the Graphics cards improve and the bandwidth of a PCI-Express Slot could become a bottle neck. However with your configuration you should be quite ok.
Hi Intuitive,
Some AMD partners have indeed received Dirt Rally Vouchers from AMD for promotion.
When you have bought a Graphics Card with such a voucher you should have received either a physical voucher with a unique nr. on it or an “electronic voucher” which is basically just the unigue key. This is the unique key you need for that AMD portal (not serial nr. of the product no ean codes).
I know that 15.6 Catalyst works quite well for Eyefinity setups
Hi Sebastian,
If you can run games on your Graphics Card and benchmark test will run fine, the chance that there is anything wrong with your Graphics Card is not very big.
Sometime these type of errors happen due to (static) electrical issues.
Please make sure to use a power outlet with ground for your PC and if possible a power outlet with Ground for the Screen.
Hope it helps
Hi Iedzepman,
The best way to do it is like this:
Start System in safe mode
Un-install all VGA related software, including Catalyst, driver and other software like Afterburner or other tuning software.
It is important to do this on safe mode so that the registry can be cleaned.
If the system does not allow you to do remove In safe mode, please use a program like DDU , which you can dowload for instnace here: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/?q=node/38
Reboot system (normal mode).
Windows will ask to install driver, just click that away (close). For download and installation of new driver got to: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064
Hi Steve,
You are using an XFX R9 270X ?
What operating system are you using ?
It should be possible to run 4 x 1080p off the MST Hub plus 1 x 1080p off the HDMI output directly off the card.
Make sure the Bios of the mainboard is updated to latest available version ( i know it sounds odd but often really makes a difference) and please make sure Windows is fully updated.
When windows recognized all the screens and resolution and frequency is ok, then go to Catalyst and setup your Eyefinity group. When you are done on the left top in Catalyst yo make a preset, handy to go back to favorite settings with only a few clicks.
Please also use different power outlet for PC and Screens if at all possible.
Hi Consecca,
It does state on Amazon that your “Rankie” adapter should support Aplle MAC’s … so that is a bit weird.
I do see that the Adapter you have supports up to 1920x180p so if you are trying to connect that Hazro screen as the second screen then your problem is the resolution. Your screen has a native resolution of 1440p and the adapter does not support more than 1080p. Why don’t you just use a Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable ?
Hi Consecca,
It should no be a problem to connect from the Thunderbold output an HDMI screen.
My guess is that your Mini DP to HDMI adapter is the problem.
You will need a good quality Mini DP to HDMI Active Adapter, like our CAC-1153

Best regards,
Marcel
sorry i am out of ideas also 🙁
Can you test the Power Adapter that comes with the MST Hub ? Or try a different one that oputputs 5Volt and 2.4 Ampere …
