CAC-1087 Fails HDCP support verification with PDVD 21

Hello.

My HTPC supports UHD Bluray playback and I’ve been using a certified Kabeldirekt 10k/8k HDMI 2.1b cable. Due to the restrictions of the hardware setup, the integrated video on my CPU limits me to 24hz using HDMI. Problem is It seems some studios record UHDBD at above 24hz.  As my setup will allows DP outputs at up to 60hz, I wanted to see if the CAC 1087 would allow playbacks at higher frame rates to potentially smooth some disk’s playbacks.

Problem is that after only the cable change, when I try to play a disk, my player says something in the setup is not HTCP compliant. Switch back to the HDMI cable, all is good again. The Club 3d cable was purchased 9/2024 from the Club 3d amazon store & specs show the cable support both HDCP 1.4 and 2.2.

Can anyone offer any insight here?

Setup is:

Mobo – Asus WS-z390 pro

CPU – Intel i5-8600t w/SGX activated

Graphics – Integrated UHD Graphics 630

Display – LG C9

Video Player – PDVD-21

Below is the reply from Club 3d support which is in direct conflict with the published specs for this cable. I advised them of this and waiting for a more informed reply

Hello

Thank you for your mail. We can see that the DP support is DP1.2 and not DP1.4 and therefore DP does not support HDCP2.2

With best regards

Is the support not referring to your iGPU from the UHD630? That apparently only supports DP 1.2?

Just connect DP to HDR monitor and don’t use the adapter, then run Corel’s checktool to check the result. And I guess you can pass HDCP2.2 and HDR test.

Your motherboard already has one LSPCON, so I think the adapter becomes a problem because the processor only allows one LSPCON with HDCP 2.2. So you must solve the 24Hz limitation issue of the LSPCON on your motherboard, and the first step is finding out the spec of your LSPCON chip. However, you have to know not every LSPCON can support 4K60Hz.
