Hi Bhuvsta, it’s from DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 only, so no bi-directional functionality. We have no plans to offer an HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.2 adapter.

Will it be normal DP or Mini DP? because in the above description, “the first ‘Real’ (mini)DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 4K UHD Active Adapter.” (i have very little experience with dp cables so i am not solid on what they look like) however that appears to be a normal DP connector.

Hi Barga901, we start shipping the cables from 30 December. A couple of days after it should reach resellers active in Italy. Most likely it will be offered first by Amazon.it, conrad.it and Alternate.it. It’s listed at Alternate already but the price mentioned here is probably not definitive:

Take a deep breath…..now look up at your monitor or phone and read royalkings reply just above. Estimating shipping from amazon on the 4th or 5th. Now obviously the only information club can offer us…when they received their stock on Dec 30th and then sent out for distribution. I would assume my reply is all you’ll need, unless you plan on contacting amazon?

I just spoke with Amazon and they have no clue it seems when this will be in stock and if they did, they would have updated the item’s status on their website. I really hope this is not vaporware. Please update as to when Amazon will receive this product and when we can expect Amazon to update their website to say “In Stock”.

Yeah, these do not work AT ALL with at least certain TVs, maybe with many TVs. I absolutely cannot get my fury X and vizio m50-c1 TV to utilize this device and it’s infuriating and a gigantic waste of my time.

I just ordered from Amazon in the US and it says temporarily out of stock. Do you know when they will be back instock and ship? Also does this adapter support a 21:9 Aspect Ratio? I have 3 LG 29″ monitors (29UM57). I am using a Visontek Radeon HD 7750 3M Graphics card with 2 HDMI out and one mini DP. I ordered the CAC-1170 adapter in hopes that this will give me my three monitor setup. Does this adapter support AMD Eyefinity? I need 2560×1080 at 60hz. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hi Bach0183, yes you should be able to run this in Eyefinity 3. Given the resolution of your LG monitors it’s not required to have a CAC-1170, our CAC-1153 Active HDMI adapter will work as well. If you want a more future proof adapter for possible upgrade to 4K UHD panels in the future your best choice is the CAC-1170. It’s expected to be back in stock at Amazon US early february.

Don’t hold your breath mate … (about it working). I have a similar setup to you and can’t get the adapter to work. I have a NUC5i5RYK and a Sony KD65X9300C with Monster 27 Gbps cable and can’t get it to 4K/60Hz with the adapter. I’m probably going to have to get rid of the NUC and build a more expensive HTPC with a dedicated GPU and HDMI 2.0 out to avoid this nonsense.

Also i have feedback from many users who have it working on Skylake HD520/530/540 graphics, so that should certainly not be an issue. With HD6000 it is a bit more tricky, but as you can see on the above link, this user has it working even on a HD4600 …

We are in the same boat I have Samsung 4k tv and msi r9 380 only support 30khz thru hdmi and I expect get 4k/60hz with the adapter @rippedgeek

here is my standard checklist

* Color Depth (often default set to 16 bits or even 32 bits) need to be set to 8 bits (when running 4:4:4) or 12Bit when running in 4:2:2.

I am quite sure the adapter does not support higher color depth than 12bit.

* Make sure the HDMI port your using on the TV is HDMI 2.0 capable or 3840x2160p 60HZ capable.

Often TV’s have like 4 HDMI ports, but only 1 is suited for “2.0” standard.

* Make sure the HDMI cable you are using can do HDMI2.0 or 18Gbps.

* On many TV’s you need to turn on “UHD Color” manually in the settings of your TV for the HDMI port to which your pc is connected.

* Also it could help when connecting 2 screens, to set the screen connected thru the Adapter as second/secondary screen

* Try making a custom resolution and choose timing standard CVT-RB (reduced Blanking)
