Club3D to connect Apple 23 inch HD display to MacBook Pro

I bought the Club3D CAC-1510 to connect my Apple 23 inch HD display to my MacBook Pro. When I plug it in, the image appears on the screen for a couple of seconds and then the monitor goes dark.  Both the monitor and the computer are plugged into power.  Any ideas?
