Can you test each memory module? Just place one at a time to see if the problem comes from one of the memory modules.
I do not know your system but most main boards have dual channel memory, so you need to place them in pairs, you can check in the main board manual.
For the issue you have is best that you test each memory module to find out if one of them or more is giving problems.

When you setup the PLP the driver by default will place the screens as “fit”. If your portrait displays are taller than the landscape display, you will have a black portion on the top.

You need to go back to the catalyst and under Catalyst AMD Eyefinity Configuration you need to select resize desktop to expand the screen, so both portrait screens will fill the black portion.

Sorry to hear about your situation.
Can you detail me your system configuration? Hardware model and make, OS etc.
Are you overclocking your system? Are you increasing voltages?
If the artifacts are appearing in your TV and then you disconnect your HDMI cable and your DVI screen goes blank, do you have your primary display in your HDTV?
Please make sure that your OS is up to date and download the latest AMD display drivers.

Yes, you can use the plier to bend it back in place, it will not void the warranty.
