sounds like the DP output is not working at all ….
Not really.
I dont know any better than that a MBPro late 2013 has a TB2 output looking like this
and with a lighting sign next to it looking like this

That means it supports DisplayPort 1.2 specs and that the MBPro should be able to output 3840×1600 and send that to the TB2 ouput. Meaning you should be able to use a CAC-2163 cable to connect to your screen and be done.

Good day bojanm,
Not quite clear to me what MacBook you have … is it a MacBook Pro ?
Now, the question is – would CAC-1170 active adapter allow to connect mini display port from MBR to monitor HDMI input while supporting 1920×1600@60Hz resolution so monitor would display full 3840×1600 resolution at 60 Hz from laptop.
I think you can set that resolution on your system, but i doubt if tit will display full 3840×1600 this way. The adapter only converts the existing DP signal you chose to output into and HDMI signal.
Since your screen has a DP input, i am not quite clear why you would want to convert that DP Signal …
If you MacBook has a Thunderbolt 2 output, you should be able to output 4K60Hz and just use a Mini-DP to DP cable like our CAC-2163.
Hello carver,
Although intel HD4000 does support 3 screens max, or 2 external screens plus the notebook screen, please do check if the DP output on the Notebook is DP 1.2 spec.
I think Intel only started with DP1.2 supprot from Haswell HD 4600 onwards and DP 1.2 is needed for support of MST.
Try connecting the Mini DP – to DVI active adapter plus only 1 extra external screen to see if that works …
thanks for the feedback and sorry for the inconvenience
that would be depend on the cable but could be an issue yes.
certainly if your cable is an active one it will most probably not work
Hi papourien,
If your screens have HDMi input a CAC-2170 will do fine,
If it is only DVI than a CAC-1152 will be good.
Good day papourien,
That card was far ahead of its time 🙂
This card supports more screens than 2 however you will have use the Eyfinity feature of the card. You do this by using the DP ouput of the card. When connecting a Screen with DP in put you can use a passive adapter, when using a screen without DP input you will need to use an active adapter with Eyefinity support.
Which HD7770 card do you have (brand/Type)? So i see the outputs on the card …
If i understand correctly your screens are
Screen 1 is VGA input
Screen 2 and 3 have DVI input.
All screens are 1920 x 1080 ?
Good day ainf,
Sorry ot hear this.
The CSV-3103D should indeed support 2 screens at 1920×1080 60Hz.
What Notebook do you have (brand, type, OS)?
What screens are you using (brand, type)?
What generally speaking works well is this…
Disconnect docking
Uninstall all Displaylink software from the system.
Reboot.
Download and install latest driver software;
for WIN10 you can find it here:
http://www.club-3d.com/en/openpdfz/2403_1/zip/displaylink_sw_win10_81_7_version_8.4_m2.zip/
When done, please reboot again.
Now connect docking and it should work in proper manner.
Hi briccko,
Sounds good.
Looking forward to hear your feedback.
Sorry to hear this 🙁
Perhaps the card overheated because of the fan-damage …
Good day Briccko,
To go from DP output on Graphics card to HDMI input on TV with 4K 60Hz support, you can use
CAC-1080 plus HDMI Cable CAC-1310 or CAC-2312.
That will give you 4K 60Hz supprot and HDR if you have WIN Fall Creators edition RS3 or newer and Nvidia 390 driver or newer.
Good to hear 🙂
and thans a lot for the feedback
Unfiortunately we do not have a Thinkpad T460 here to duplicate the issue you are having. What is the type nr of your Notebook? (i saw there are many different T460 ‘s out there)
Will try to to find a way to figure this out.
A CAC- 1070 / CAC-2070 also does 4K 60Hz from DP to HDMI but has different chip inside and might behave different. Parhaps worth a try.
