    Good day nordgermane,

    You understood correctly, almost completely.
An MST Hub or Multi Stream Transport Hub, make suse of the MST feature which is supported form DisplayPort 1.2 onwards under windows, which means the system can send multiple video signals over a single DP1.2 ouput. The limitation to that is mostly determined by the Bandwidth of DP 1.2 being 21.6 Gbps or 4 x 1920×1080 at 60Hz.
    http://www.club-3d.com/en/technology/7/multi_stream_transport/

Almost all Graphics Cards however are limited to support no more then 6 screens in total.
Most of them can do 4 screens directly via its own outputs, and you would need for instance an MST Hub to connect 6 screens.

An MST Hubs iaan active device so you can connect DVI screens by using passive DP to DVI adapters plus normal DVI Cable.
    Passive DP to DVI Adapter:
    CAC-1000:
    http://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2374/displayport_to_dvi_d_single_link_passive_adapter/

Assuming you are not making A Singel Large Surface out of the screens …
To conenct 8 screens you would need either
    2 Graphics Cards
    or
use 1 graphics Card + MST Hub to get to 6 Screens plus an External USB Graphics like CSV-1477 to get to 8 screens
    or
use 1 graphics Card + 2 x  External USB Graphics like CSV-1477 to get to 8 screens

    Good day Webia,

The MST Hubs should not have any such limitation other then max bandwidth.
Since nor the Horizontal, nor the vertical max would be reached with 3 x 1024×600, you should be able to send this thru the MST HUb wihtout issue.
Which Graphics Card is inside the system you use ?

    Good day AI_Jourgensen,

All our DP 1.4 cables are downwards compatible to earlier DP specs like DP 1.2 and DP1.3.
So the CAC-115 will work just fine for you 🙂

Sorry for the delay, it sounds like the Docking works fine and there is just an issue with the USB Ethernet driver.
Any chance of trying to run that upgrade program on a Windows machine ?

    Hello
where do you see that CAC-2330 it is limited to 225Mhz?

    Good day Hans,

Most (if not all) USB C Adapters are active, meaning they will normally not work very well with other active devices like MST Hubs and/or other active adapters or cables.
Also in your setup the adapter will need to be Multi Stream Transport compatible to be able to forward the MST Signal to the MST Hub.
Mos Notebook do not support more than  screens in total, meaning their own screen plus  external screens. Or when you want, 3 external screens but with the notebook screen disabled.
Please check how many screens your notebook supports.
The only work around that limitation of max amount of screens is to use External USB Graphics or a Docking Station with that inside.
So if you would wnat to run the notbook screen + 3 external screens i would advise this:
Screen 1: passive HDMI to DVI converter like CAC-HMD>DFD + DIV cable to screen.
Screen 2: CSV-1474 + passive HDMI to DVI converter like CAC-HMD>DFD + DIV cable to screen.
Screen 3: CSV-1474 + passive HDMI to DVI converter like CAC-HMD>DFD + DIV cable to screen.
if you would wish more possibel connections you could also use instead of CSV-1474 ext usb Graphics a Docking Station like CSV-1460 (convert the DP outputs with passive adapter like CAC-1000 to DVI).

You can of course also use a Docking Station like CSV-1560, but that does not have a Ext. USB Graphics inside, so you woult be able to go over the 3 screens in total like this.

    Good day Webia,

The firmware loaded on the MST Hub is the most recent one available, so that is good.
Pelase make sure to use Passive Cable / Adapters to connect the screens to the MST Hub.

I will double chekc if the MST Hub supports 1024 x 600 resolution and or the settigns as listed above, and get back to you.

Did anything chance recently, like Windows / Driver updates ?
If yes please load a system restore point form before the problem started.

    Hello Smaskz,
Why would making a custom resolution with timing standard at CVT-RB not be a “real 4K 60Hz signal” ?
CVT-RB is a setting that is better suited for newer (faster) screens, reduces blanking pauzes that use to be necessary with CRT Screens,

    Good day Hans,

If ia m not mistaking the CAC-1509 is an active Adapter, those normally do not work well together with other active devices in the same signal line, like in this case an MST Hub.
Have not tested this yet, but quite sure that is it.
How amny and which screens would you like to connect to the notebook ?
