Hello Knightman,
Verry sorry to hear it still does not work for you.
However the fact that you recieved a new and tested CSV-5400 from the RMA department tells me that the problem is not really coming from the CSV-5400 …
Anyway i do repsect your frustration of course, however i think refunds you can only claim for the place you purchased the goods …
Here is what the adapter supports:

So yes in 3840×2160 60Hz 4:4:4: the BPC color depth need to be at 8Bit otherwise the signal get too big for HDMI2.0.
MisMatch error, should only happens when there are more graphics gpu’s in a system (SLI or Dual Graphics Setups) or some other active device connected is disrupting the signal (like MST Hub or active switch).
I am starting to doubt it can be added thru firmware, but have no confirmed info on that yet. I will palce you on the “HDR” list as well to send you update you whenever i have new info on that.
Stefan75 rules 🙂
i will have this tested here on macbook pro 2015 with sierra and get back to you after the weeknd with the result …
Requested support to email the latest available firmware to you.
cool good to hear it is (finally) working for you !
sorry but it does not support HDR
Hi Preichl,
Thanks a lot.
Running on Nvidia Kepler based graphics would indeed be a challenge to say the least. If the Notebook can also run on the Intel Graphics only, so with Nvidia Graphics Disabled completely, it should be able to work. The Intel 530 Graphics can do it, which would only leave you needing a decnt linux driver for HD 530 …
You also tried the custom resoltuion with Timing Standard set to CVT-Reduced Blanking right ? That often works best for setups with TV’s.
So that would then be Custom resolution for 3840x2160p at 60Hz with Timing Standard set to CVT-Reduced Blanking and BPC set to 8Bit and turn on the UHD Color on the TV. If that does still not work, the only thing i can think of is the Pixel Clock not being correct.
Sometimes the EDID info cannot be read in good manner, resulting in a Pixel Clock setting being send out by the system, which the TV does not support. Also please make sure to keep software of the TV updated.
You should can do such setting with a progrma like CRU: http://www.monitortests.com/forum/thread-custom-resolution-utility-cru
Since you have a very good TV it will most probably support a pixel clock of 594MHz
and it could be that it will be standard set to something like 540Mhz …
I know that CRU helped already quite a few users with 6000 series TV’s …
Sorry to hear that can you recall what linux graphics driver version you were using ?
Sorry to hear this.
It often helps to use the first DP ouput on the GTX1080 which is the one with only HDMI next to it.
– Setup
Setups with TV’s normally work best by making a custom resolution, in this case for: 3840*2160 at 60 Hz with Timing Standard set to CVT-RB (Reduced Blanking ).
On most Sony TV’s “Enhanced Mode” needs to be “On” for the HDMI 2.0 port in use.
Please make sure the HDMI port of the Screen/TV supports 4K 60 Hz, often not all HDMI inputs support that.
Please make sure the Software of the TV is updated.
Firmware will be send over by [email protected]
Hi Darrien,
Thanks for your request.
I have no knowledge of such a product being in our roadmap for Products to be introduced.
I will check with R&D / Product Managment and if the above changes i will let you know.
Hi Spikerules,
What driver are you currently using and what Grpahcis Card you have exactly ?
I know many users of AMD Radeon HD and R7/9 2xx/3xx cards have been able to solve their driver issues with driver relaeses after 16.12.1.
So drivers from 16.9.1 ~16-12.1 please dont use for AMD Radeon HD and R7/9 2xx/3xx cards. After that you should be fine.Settign to make custom resolutions with Timing Standard for CVT-Reduced Blanking are back …
