CAC-1010 Monitor turns on and off

Hello, I just received my CAC-1010 adapter. I plugged it in and everything seemed to be working at first. It seems at no matter what refresh rate I have my monitor set to, my monitor seems to turn on and off randomly. It can happen within 10 seconds of each other to several minutes without anything. I am unsure what could be causing the problem.

I tried plugging the USB into 3.0 and 2.0 ports on motherboard, along with in the wall with a plug. Nothing seemed to change the outcome. My DVI-D cable works just fine as it was working previously with my old graphics card. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and I’m on the latest update of Windows 10. I imagine the USB doesn’t get the power it needs at times so that’s why the monitor turns off, but I figured that would’ve been fixed by plugging it into the wall, so I’m unsure what the problem is. Help is greatly appreciated.

I also seems to have the problem of darker areas on my monitor having flickering pixels. Not sure if that’s related, but worth mentioning.

Hi Key50,

I must say, you’ve got such a sweet PC built. Sadly the monitor doesn’t really fit into that hardware list ;).

Have you tried all DisplayPorts on your GPU?

By reading your issues and you are sure your cable is working correctly. I believe you unfortunately received a faulty adapter. I’d suggest to RMA it and request a new one.
