Nvidia drivers 457.09 are not fully compatible with the Club3d CAC-1085 Display port to HDMI 2.1 adaptor and the RTX 2080 Ti. This driver removes 4k@120Hz and 4K@100Hz resolutions. The resolutions are restored when rolling back to driver 456.98. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
CAC-1085 and Nvidia drivers 457.09 missing resolutions.
Updated on 09-07-2021 in DisplayPort 1.4 to 4K120Hz HDMI Adapter.i see the same issue too and reverting to 456.98 resolves it. others have reported issues with certain refresh rates on different displays as high as 240hz using DSC (which the CAC-1085 also uses for certain modes). there was supposedly a fix for DSC and black screen issues in this driver. That could be related to this issue and they either broke their own driver, or they prohibited certain DSC-capable devices from negotiating a connection using the latest driver.
Club 3D CAC-1085 with…
- nVidia Game Ready Driver 457.30 – Nov 09, 2020 – LIMITED.
- nVidia Game Ready Driver 457.09 – Oct 29, 2020 – LIMITED.
- nVidia Game Ready Driver 456.71 – Oct 09, 2020 – WORKING.
The option “Perform a clean installation” was selected each time.
In the nVidia Game Ready Driver versions after 456.71, the resolutions and color depths and frame rates are limited. Rolling back to 456.71 reverted the limitations. Further description of the limitations:
The resolution 4k (3840×2160) is limited to 60 Hz, and can only be increased to 120 Hz by creating a custom resolution profile. In that case, the option to go above 8 bit-color with RGB or YCbCr444 rather than being able to select 12-bit color, is also lost.
I expect working with Club 3D support and nVidia support on this issue will be the best way to resolve this.
Still broken as of 460.79.
I understand a lot of the blame probably falls on Nvidia, but being months and a number of driver updates in, is there any acknowledgement of the issue from Club 3D?
We are reaching (have reached?) the point where it is disingenuous to say that the product works with Nvidia cards.
Once again no reply from Club3d – not even a firmware section to update the adapter.
I guess the only solution is to either stay on older nvidia drivers, or buy a new 30xx series card.
A third option is to wait for the Bizlink Adapter

Hi, i have some news about this !!!!!
After completing and sending the “NVIDIA display driver form” corresponding to the 2 lastest driver releases, 2 weeks ago i reciebed an email of [email protected] asking me to send them the full kernel memory dump to try to investigate it, and i did it.
today i recieved a new email saying:
Hello,
I have added the bug to the open issues list on our forums for tracking purposes:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/429825/geforce-46140-game-ready-driver-feedback-thread-re/
Displayport-to-HDMI 2.1 protocol converter clock limited to 600MHz pixel clock [3202060]
So hopefully, nvidia driver team is now aware of this issue and will try to get a fix for it 😉
Great news, thanks for your iniciative. I would have expected that Club 3D would be the first to nudge them to repair it, since it is clearly issue on Nvidia side.
And maybe they have contacted them, but Nvidia has been playing dead bug so this (and similar) adapters get bad reputation, and force users to rather buy new GPU, than using the old one. Who knows.
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After almost half a year, we get again our Club3D CAC-1085 working as intended!!!
Just installed a few minutes ago driver version 466.11 dch and got my 3 X LG OLED55C9 working in surround mode at 11520×2160@120HZ.
Now time to enjoy before it gets broken again ……
