Hello,

does the CSV-1477 support two ‎3840×[email protected] outputs via Displayport?

That resolution appears to require less bandwidth than 4K60 (assuming CVT-RB timing) so it should work for DisplayPort 1.2. The question is, does DisplayLink support arbitrary resolutions? I think DisplayLink should be smart enough to support whatever resolutions are listed in the EDID of a display but I’ve never used DisplayLink before. Maybe check the DisplayLink website. What display do you want to connect? Is 3840×[email protected] the native resolution of the display? I found the following:

https://support.displaylink.com/forums/287786-displaylink-feature-suggestions/suggestions/44899879-add-support-for-3840-x-2560-resolution

I guess it means that the mode is not supported because 2560 is taller than the normal 3840×2160 (8294400 pixels). It’s possible the DisplayLink adapter doesn’t have enough memory for 3840×2560 (9830400 pixels). Well, that’s not entirely true. The DisplayLink adapter has enough memory for 5120×2880 but in that case it is actually doing two displays at 2560×2880 each (7372800 pixels). I don’t know if DisplayLink can change the driver or firmware to do a single 3840×2560 display.

Then I found this which said it did work?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, 3840×[email protected] is one of the native resolutions for the display, the other is the same but @60Hz. It’s the same display as described in the DisplayLink forum post and DisplayLink feature suggestion, the Huawei MateView 28″.

According to the feature suggestion, it wasn’t supported back in June 2022. But the forum post suggests that 5-6 months ago (from January 2023) it worked, which would be July/August 2022.

So maybe the support was added – I guess I’ll have to test it.

Ok, I tested both the CSV-1474 and CSV-1477.

They don’t support 3840×2560. The highest supported 3×2 resolution is 3600×2400.
