Wondering if the CAC-1510-A (HDCP off) adapter for Cinema Displays, which is currently out of stock on Amazon, is still being made by Club 3D? If so, when can we expect new units to be available?
Quick follow-up: I received the CAC-1510-A, and it works perfectly to connect the Apple Cinema HD display (30-inch, from 2004) to a 2020 M1 Mac Mini. This is the adapter with “HDCP OFF.” The display will start up in 1280 x 800 resolution. Don’t let that bother you. Go to System Preferences–>Displays. Holding down the option key as you click “Displays” brings up the panel with “hidden” resolution of 2560 x 1600. Just select that, and you’re good to go. The Cinema HD display is certainly a capable monitor, but note that Big Sur is designed with higher resolutions in mind. Ideally, it wants a 5K display, like Apple’s 5K iMac or LG’s UltraFine 27MD5KL-B. But this adapter from Club 3D will certainly extend the life of a Cinema Display. It’s a fine product at a good price.
